Do you think Hillary Clinton takes this to the convention floor?
Unless there is a massive tidal wave of supers endorsing Senator Obama over the next few weeks, I wonder if she might. Do you think she'll take it to the convention? She'll issue a minority report to the convention floor trying to seat Michigan and Florida as is. That vote would take place on the first night of the convention. I think once she loses that vote if she were to, that she would effectively concede. Until then, I'm not hopeful that she'll concede especially with her upcoming large PR, KY and WV wins. Afe you hopeful?

1. I don't necessarily think her wins in those states will be huge after this week...
...but even if they are, wasn't it always her contention that red states with low populations "don't count?"

2. I want to see what she says at noon.
After her speech last night and (apparently erroneous) reports that she had canceled appearances today, I thought that she was going to admit the reality of the situation and bow out.

If she's being realistic but egotistical, she might wait until after KY and WV so she goes out on a high point.

If she's being the person I think she is, she'll take it to the convention...even if Obama reaches 2025 delegates.

3. no, I think she knows it is over
and will probably maintain a low profile during the upcoming primaries. As a Clinton supporter, I can say that most of us are aware by now that if she tried to still fight what is now apparent, it wouldn't be a good thing.
Plus, I think that she will want to be VP and would probably be good at it.
She could travel to other countries, do all that diplomatic work that she's been very good at, do some fence mending which Bushco has destroyed.

It's time to extend the olive branch within our own party. She must know that and if not, the supers will remind her.

it wouldn't be to her advantage or to the party's to push on beyond the primaries. She's preparing an exit strategy. Although this whole thing could make one lose their mind, I don't think Hill's quite lost hers yet. She will do the expedient thing, while thanking her supporters. I hope she figures out who her true supporters were one day, as opposed to those who used her and/or gave her bad advice. I'd like to think she can at least analyze it all in hindsight, in the cold light of day.

May Hillary receive this cosmic smack down in the right spirit. It cannot be denied that she tapped into something important for a lot of people. I feel wistful about what/who she could have been. But she does not get the roses.

15. agreed, cosmic smackdowns are always an awakening
so let's hope that she's wise enough to see the handwriting on the wall.
Hell, if I can see it, I'm sure that she can.
Beside, she's broke! I heard this am that there's talk of Obama's folks helping her out financially - dig that!
I don't know who let that cat out of the bag but methinks that could only mean that he's considering her for VP. I could be very wrong so let's wait and see.
ITMT, she might not get roses, but I'd send her a good bottle of Chevas Regal and some B vitamins as a consolation prize.

right, a Chivas gift basket & B vitamins --excellent for shattered nerves and hangovers...that would be the conservative approach to adjustment (as long as somebody else can pour the shots).

Hmmmmm--giving her a handout "means he's considering her for VP"

Dunno--seems to me he might pay her NOT to be on the ticket.

20. want to make a little wager on that?
I'll bet you one of my prize Tomato plants that he will not want to lose her base in November. I'd bet real dollars but it's the economy stupid, to coin a phrase, lol.

I think that she's going to play nice now and let the chips fall and all that.
Remembering that he might feel differently than we do here, being an astute politician, he's probably already considering the ifs and ands of it all.

27. just on the surface
Obama has that going for him....ie. the total disaster of Bush economic policy failures for most of us. He wouldn't lose all of Hill's base (women, working class whites) precisely because of the critical nature of the situation. I'm sure that Obama is considering what might unify the party right now. I have a hunch that Hill(and Bill)on the ticket would be well down on his list of solutions. I don't think she has that kind of solid power--her constituency is largely voting for her femaleness, her whiteness, or her wife-of-Billness (economic good old days)-- because her policies aren't hugely different from Obama's. A lot of voters will get real practical all of a sudden--they won't need to be courted in a big way. Nevertheless Obama does have to bring the party together. I doubt if he will do it in that literal a way though. There will be negotiations....

just my 2cents. Good for you growing tomatoes. It's hard work to grow food from scratch. Tried it from time to time. The rats, deer, bugs, fungus, drought or rabbits or something else has always defeated my individual efforts--we need more community gardens.

28. yes and yes
negotiations are probably going on now as we type. The eyes are all on November victory for all Dem. candidates.

Just a thought here for your growing dilemma. I bought an 89 dollar greenhouse because there are so many bugs that eat my plants, and I won't use sprays.

I'm going to give it a try, see how that works. Community gardens are so needed now. If I had more energy, I'd start one here. As it is, I give veggie plants to friends, neighbors. Container planting too. Buy some bridal veil netting, put it over the plants and voila, rabbits, deer won't touch it and easy to water.

29. thanks for thoughts
I might do some containers with the netting. Haven't tried that yet. Herbs I've had more luck with because they have some natural repellents...deer really hate mint and rosemary and even basil. Small greenhouse makes sense and you can start stuff early...that's an idea.

We'll see about this Obama - Hillary dance now

30. about the greenhouses
I found one similar to the one I bought. I love it because for the first time ever, I can grow seeds without the slugs eating them all up. Here's the link with a pic of the Gardman Hobby Greenhouse:

http://shopping.msn.com/Specs/shp/?itemId=414737576

Greenhouses also make sense for growing greens, etc., during the winter. I figure next winter, greens and most foods will be so high priced, we'll need to at least have a good salad with our Soylent Green, lol.

Who wouldn't dance with this guy?

:loveya:

6. What would her pitch be?
I should be the nominee because I appeal to the uneducated wing of the Democratic party. Smart people don't like me but dumbshits love me. Yeah, that'll work.

Which is not really fair to those who might donate.

11. I believe is almost certain she will contest the election until a floor vote
That does not however mean that the party as a whole will not already be rallying around Obama long before that.
