Senator Clinton: "no matter what happens, I will work for the nominee of the Democratic Party"
Here is an excerpt from Senator Clinton's speech in Indiana on May 6th, 2008:

I know that people -- people are watching this race, and they're wondering. I win, he wins, I win, he wins. It's so close. And I think that says a lot about how excited and passionate our supporters are and how intent so many Americans are to really taking their country back.

But I can assure you, as I have said on many occasions, that, no matter what happens, I will work for the nominee of the Democratic Party, because we must win in November.

And I know -- I know that Senator Obama feels the same way, because we have been on this campaign trail now for a long time.

And we know how desperately people want to see a change, and it will not be a change if the Republicans keep the White House. It will be more of the same, something that no one, no matter what political party you may be, can afford.

It is time for all of us to recognize what is at stake in this election, not just for Democrats, as we decide who will be our nominee, but for all Americans.

You know, the soldiers and the veterans that I meet, they always say to me, "Promise you'll take care of my buddies." They rarely ask for themselves. And they need a president who will take care of them.

And when I talk with the people who come to rallies and events like this, very often it's with a bit of hesitation that they tell me they've lost their job, they've lost their health care, they can't afford to go to college.

And it just breaks my heart, because when I think about the America that I grew up in, the future was unlimited, the potential was there for all of us, if we were willing to work hard and do our part.

So this journey that we're on together is one that has been a blessing for me, because I know what this country has meant to me and I know what it still means to all of you.

It is now our responsibility to ensure that it will always mean the same for our children and our grandchildren.

3. Rec'd.
I wish she had taken a more unifying tone during the previous months. Instead she had to run an incredibly polarizing campaign in the hopes that Obama would crash and burn.

The best thing she can do for the party now is to drop out ASAP and let us all get to work on McSame.

6. Well, I rather she was on our side, that's for sure.
Not just because she's proven that if something is important to her, she will commit heart and soul, but because, when she really wants to be an inspiring leader that captures hearts, she can be very effective.

10. Empty words
If she meant any of that, she would not be carrying on this divisive campaign. She would not be threatening to take this to the convention floor. She would not be arguing that pledged delegates don't really have to honor their pledges.

Yes, we all look forward to reconciling and moving on, but that is entirely up to Hillary. Right now, she is talking out of both sides of her mouth.

11. I have to agree.
Right now she is wasting Obama's money and our time. Step aside, Senator Clinton.

12. After last night, he won't be wasting a lot of money
He definitely had to do a big burn in Indiana and NC. He won't be doing that in the remaining states because it simply isn't necessary.

There are lots of rules about when you have to spend your money. There can be tactical advantages to spending some of the money now. I would expect he'd do a certain amount of "Morning in America" messaging in the remaining states, particularly the ones he expects to keep in play in November.

Mostly, I hope he gets a little rest. He has been on a relentless schedule.

16. I don't see how any of Obama's money is being wasted.
He is reaching out to millions of voters and informing them about his plans for America.

For someone who is running for President, this is all money well spent.

23. He is wasting money by
having to draw comparisons between himself and Hillary, rather than himself and McCain.

Fortunately, it's not that much different, so the messages will still reach their intended target demographic.

work together to defeat John McCain.

14. What is wrong with letting folks vote in all 50 States?
It is only fair that voters in all 50 States get a chance to express a preference and have their voices heard before anyone announces who the winner is. There are still another 5 States that have yet to vote - plus Puerto Rico.

Howard Dean has been consistent on this, that the voting should continue thru June 3rd.

Barack Obama also understands the situation, and has not asked Hillary to step aside.

There is no good reason for Obama supporters to keep calling on Hillary to quit.

Hillary has every right to maintain her candidacy. (And so does Ron Paul, for that matter.)

20. It would be nice to start working against McCain as a team.
Most years we have a nominee by this time. It's not like all 50 states vote every primary. Although I would think after this disastrous primary season they would make some changes.

I would like to unify to work against McCain. If they want to let everyone vote, that is fine, they can seat FL and Michigan with their illegal votes too, and Barack still wins.

It seems like a waste of money and precious time that we could be using to unite against McCain, but whatever.

Hillary understands that this election is way more important than the personal ambition of either candidate.

22. Hillary understands that there is no point in bashing Obama now.
Her fellow Senators will not let her say anything negative about Obama from today.

During the next 6 months we expect 100% unity and loyalty to the party and to the nominee.
