Webb out "mavericks" the Maverick.

He out "straight-talk expresses" the Straight-Talk Express.

He will win over a lot of McCain's indies that Obama didn't already grab but are open to the idea.

They compliment each other
Webb is a bit less liberal which attracts Southern voters.

7. Webb is very liberal on economic issues
He went Repub back in the 80s because of military issues. But he's against stupid wars, like Iraq.

4. I think Webb will pull in blue collar voters
I just don't know if he has the temperament to be willing to be vp, and I'm not sure he would be a good president. But if he's willing to be vp, I think he'd be a good one.

17. Tim Kaine gets to appoint Webb's replacement
And I think there's plenty of qualified Democrats who can hold the seat.

13. We are already so far into uncharted waters that "conventional wisdom" must be tossed out the window
No predictions based on the past are terribly informing IMHO.

19. The only losing ticket I can remember with two Senators in recent history is Kerry/Edwards
The last ticket before that with two Senators was Kennedy/Johnson.

15. No Way Obama should pick Webb. I'm from VA...He has a woman problem...
The entire Senate campaign was littered with his articles from the 80s where he stated women didn't have what it took to be in the military, and that wasn't their role anyways.

Webb did a terrific job to barely overcome this, but this is NOT the fight we want to relive. Instead, Obama should be choosing a woman, not someone with women issues.

16. Webb is a good choice but for the 2 Seantors thing
Especially if McLame goes with Huckleberry or Mittens. I can see Mitt delivering the line now: "I've run a large corporation. I've run a large state. They've run campaigns.' :puke:
