*******Official "Thank You North Carolina" Thread*******
Maybe it ought to be "thank y'all." At any rate, those of us who support Barack are all Tarheels tonight. Or Blue Devils. Whatever.

Anyway, THANK YOU NORTH CAROLINA. You may finally be the ones to allow us to get after McCain.

And the legacy of that guy now in the Oval Office.

45. You are welcome. I cast my vote with great vigor this morning........
here in South Charlotte. I used to make an exaggerated swinging motion with my arm back when they had machines with those little levers. Now I have to touch the "Enter Ballot" button so I do it as though I'm Johnny Depp stabbing the bad guys with a sword.

I voted for the Democrat, today. The next President of The United States... Senator Barack Obama.

The MSM has a bigger spread. Who the heck tells them this stuff?

Anyway, it looks good here but remember we've only got partial results from
10 counties out of 100.

83. They were totally obnoxious. It was relentless. I asked NICELY at first to be
removed from the call list and it never happened. I asked nicely about 4 times. I finally got so pissed off yesterday after robo-calls from Hillary, Bill and Chelsea -- all before about 10 a.m. yesterday -- I called the campaign office about 10 times just to say "Hey, I'm just calling to waste YOUR time since you've been wasting mine for 2 weeks, haven't had the decency to respect a voter's wishes not to be called, and I'm sure I'm irritating you now but it's nothing compared to what you've been doing in my home on my private phone line."

The Obama campaign didn't do this -- I got one call from a human volunteer and that was it. Much classier and smarter if you ask me.

You know, in 2006 I was getting National Republican Senatorial Committee robo-calls. I filed a FEC complaint because they were both harassing and violated rules (no identification or number to call) I called the NRSC and demanded it stop. It did stop. I did the same much more respectfully and nicely with the Clinton campaign -- they either didn't give a shit or were too incompetent to remove numbers when asked. Or maybe too overwhelmed. Regardless, they pissed a lot of people I know off!

89. That's a brilliant idea! I didn't get a single call from her campaign - no land line!
The lady I called said the same thing, that I was the only human who had called her. That's such a good idea, though. I'd love to know what other calls their office received.

77. Don't forget us in the Wolfpack!
Though NCSU is not really the most liberal college in the state, Raleigh still turned out for Obama!

85. Color VOTE Obama flyers on telephone polls on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill
Edited on Wed May-07-08 07:32 AM by mnhtnbb
are still there this a.m! What a resounding victory.

Even Wake County went Obama (Raleigh) Durham County probably had the greatest margin, followed
by Mecklenburg (Charlotte) Orange (Chapel Hill) and Buncombe (Asheville)Counties.

The progressive Dem population is building in NC. I've said all along that NC could be in play
in this election. Our Governor Easley, who endorsed Hillary and was out campaigning with her,
is old style and I was glad to see such a whopping rejection of his endorsement.

Easley's administration is responsible for the dismantling of the county mental health care system
in NC--it's becoming a disaster.

On edit: in 2004, every time Edwards or Kerry came to the state, Easley was busy doing something else.
He made NO contribution to campaigning for the Dem ticket in 2004.

86. There should also be a thank you Indiana thread.
Why should the people not be thanked just b/c Republican spoilers gave Clinton more votes?

Despite all the controversy generated by the sensationalistic media, you voted with your hearts and heads in tune. :)

91. I grew up in the town that Mayberry was based on
And this is a welcome change from all the posts blaming everyone who lives here, white and black and rich and poor and female and male and new immigrant and old blood, for things that happened 140 years ago and acting like it's the only place on the whole planet where humans aren't and haven't always been pure and perfect.

I knew it was going to happen - driving around Charlotte all day I see tons of Obama bumper stickers and Obama signs in yards but rarely see anything for Clinton. And when Obama was speaking here the other week traffic was terrible, lol.

I actually don't recall a single McCain sign or bumper sticker - I see the occasional Ron Paul sign.
