I just scanned the headlines for top stories. Who would want to be President
of the US at a time like this? Oil prices, mortgage crisis, food crisis, Iraq, Iran, Kurds, Iraqi, Iranians, ME, airline crisis, no jobs, energy crisis, education costs unaffordable to middle class, credit crunch, immigration issues.

You know what. I really like Hillary. I hope she loses. It will be the best thing that could happen for her. Men made the mess, let them clean it up. Who needs the stress and strain of it all?

1. I honestly feel for the person who has to take on this mess.
I can't imagine how discouraging it will be once the new President gets behind that desk and starts getting carpet bombed with all the problems that need to be dealt with. What a nightmare.

3. Bush et al have done enough damage we need 3 president for 8 years
to get a start on the mess. And they'll run the risk of getting blamed for Bush's economic legacy and foreign quagmires.

2. "Men made the mess, let them clean it up."
So if McCain's president, are you going to let him clean up that messy Supreme Court?

John Paul Stevens is 88. Ruth Bader Ginsberg has survived cancer survivor, and is now 75.

Just hoping you choose the right fella for the job, that's all.

5. The Senate will check him, in that case. Advise and Consent. And we should have
a nice majority there, if we don't get too hubris-laden.

And McCain just might not pick an asshole. After all, his mother said something to the effect of "Those Republicans will just have to hold their noses when they vote for him..."

But that assumes he even gets the gig. We're not even done with the primaries, yet.

4. Except for "Men made the mess
let them clean it up", I felt the same way when Kerry/Edwards lost. And look what that got us: four more years of the same crap, deeper in debt, hated around the world, no vision for the future. Our only hope is a Dem...one with a lot of courage. May the best person win!

6. Experts say the next President will be a one-termer.
For once, I think they're right.
