What IS the "nuclear option"?
I've been at work all day. This is the first I've heard of it. What IS it?

1. a blogger at huffington post is alleging that Clinton is going to force through
Edited on Mon May-05-08 04:21 PM by grantcart
a rule change at the Rules Committee to force MI and FL to be seated.

It has created a great hysteria and is IMO stupid on many levels

1) The decision has nothing to do with the rules committee it will go to the credentials committee of the conventiona and needs to be voted on by the floor of the convention

2) The rules committee has people who support both candidates but the idea that these people who have spent their entire lives dedicated to the Democratic Party would now do something so reckless is laughable.

3) There is no evidence. The blogger doesn't identify a single person on the committee that agrees with it. Doesn't cite even an anonymous source. He is just imagining something that he thinks is a hypothetical option.

4) The Clinton's are not idiots they know that any back room deal would doom their future.

I have been trying to get people to think logically about this all day long and wanted to get an early reply in before we started another round of wild speculation.
