Obama supporters, can you do me a small favor?
Log off the DU for 1/2 hour tonight and make 25 calls for Obama. Use the website 'Phone Bank from Home' feature. You can pick the state you want to dial. If you do it at night on your cell, you should have free minutes and free long distance, so it won't cost you any $$$.

I did it this AM and it was a piece of cake. I called what I think were newly registered unaffiliated voters. I got several supporters and several undecideds, but everyone I talked to was nice. The script they provide is good and flows nicely. The only glitch, in one part it says 'vote next month', and what they really mean is 'vote tomorrow'.

I find that doing calls helps me feel calmer than hanging out on the internets. And we could really use any help we can get boosting turn out!

8. registered Dems, Indys and Repubilicans
then they probably break them into demographics, party, women, students, urban, rural... and then puts lists together for whatever demo they are trying to reach out to that day.

I've been calling a lot of women in Indiana and college students in NC today.

9. I got one Libertarian.
No Clinton supporters, no Repubs.

I was calling cell phone numbers of very young, newly registered voters. Many disconnected, but I got a few good contacts. I pitched the Libertarian on Obama quickly, and then politely hung up.

6. If you have VOIP, long-distance is free...
...or usually included in your monthly bill - it's not extra.

GO for it! CALL!

7. Better yet-
If you happen to be in NC or IN, find your local campaign office and volunteer to knock on some doors.
I spent the morning canvassing. Talking to about 70 real live Democrats here in southeastern North Carolina and you know what i discovered? There is no hint of the 'bitterness', anger or acrimony you see here. Nearly everyone I talked to has voted or plans to vote for Obama. They don't despise Clinton, they just don't think she's the best suited to be the next President.
