Hint at what the internals are saying: Both candidates are spending the final 48 hours in Indiana..

This says two things, both good for Obama:

1. NC is over. Hillary realizes this and is going to spend no more resources there.

2. Indiana is TIGHT. Hillary is being forced to defend her home turf, and Obama is on the offense - working on knocking down the margin there.

If you want to know what the internals are saying, then just watch where the candidates are the next two days. Both of them are scheduled to spend Monday exclusively in Indiana.

This is VERY good news for Obama.

2. Someone please explain to me how Indiana is "Home Turf" for HRC?
Growing up in wealthy Park Ridge (sub of Chicago) is not Indiana. Even geographically - Obama's current home is closer than where HRC grew up.

Check and see who won Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho.

58. IL TV saturation only covers the NW corner of this state. Indianapolis stations cover 3/4 of state.
Most of Indiana is like Ohio, without all of the black people. More like Kentucky in its religious fervor. The non-stop Wright coverage has seriously hurt him here. It's a tough state for Obama. If he pulls off a win here now, on the heels of Wright's press club "show", it will be a miracle. (Praise Jesus!:))

9. She has been claiming a lot of places as...
her home turf. There was talk early on that Obama would do well in the Gary, IN area due to it's proximity to Chicago. Then suddenly...since she is also from the Chicago area (at least this week) she has now claimed the state as "home". Next thing we know, when the KY primary comes around, she will have been born in Lincoln's birthplace.

4. I was wondering about that becuz I just heard on C-SPAN where the candidates are
yes, Obama will take NC (Michelle will be there tomorrow)and I do think Indiana must be closer than expected earlier this week. I think that Obama being on the offensive against the pandering gas tax is making a difference. It just makes Hill look like a typical politician. I think this will make a big difference with independent voters who can vote in Indiana.

26. Dude... I live practically on the Ohio border.......and have family in Anderson Indiana... you are
WAY off.

There is hardly *ANY* appalachia at all in Ohio.... maybe 3-5% of the electorate.

Indianapolis and Cincinnati are sister cities, as far as politics is concerned.

Gary Indiana is very much like Cleveland, only MUCH MUCH smaller.

The rest of the state of Indiana... and the rest of Ohio (except for Columbus)... is basically rural farmers and conservative suburbanites.

I travel to Indiana 6 or 7 times a year.... Driving through Ohio to get there.

Ohio's demographics, it can be argued are MORE "Obama's turf" than Indiana's.

Indiana is a conservative, repuke, "god-fearing" state full of rural and suburban white people.... It has less than half of the national average of blacks.

Indiana is to Hillary what Mississippi is to Obama. If Hillary doesn't win Indiana by a comfortable margin, she f-ed up badly.

51. Indiana is also the state where the KKK found resugence
in the 1920's.

Tehre is a strong racist background in Indiana. I grew up in rural Indiana in the 60's and in my small town there was a possibility of an African American family moving in. The uproar was astounding and I learned every racist term for African Americans ever spoken.

The African American family never moved into town due to fear for their lives.

Don't feel bad. Illinois is not Chicago. Our governor just runs the state from there. We've got southern IL here and... well, it's like Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio all rolled into one.

49. I thought this was an Obama supporter I was going to have to correct on this foolishness.
The extreme northwest corner of Indiana resembles Illinois. Despite the long border between the states, they bear no other political resemblance.

Southern Indiana is a carbon copy of Kentucky/West Virginia. Eastern Indiana tends to be quite similar to Ohio demographically. Indianapolis is a typical Midwestern large town: politically amorphous and confused.

Declaring Indiana "Obama's home turf" is an admission of complete ignorance of this state.

Indiana is a conflicted electoral minefield for Democrats and has been for some decades. The Ku Klux Klan was strong there in times past and just about anything south of 38th street in Indianapolis gets downright Southern in voting patterns. One would never confuse the geopolitical profile of Evansville with Austin, Madison, or Berkeley.

Indiana voters turned liberal U.S. Senator Birch Bayh away in 1980 in favor of a young Congressman named Dan Quayle.

Indiana Democrats rejected a traditional Native Son bid by Roger Brannigan in 1968 in favor of a ilberal Catholic, Robert Kennedy.

Ralph Reed was brought in one year to manage the Republican challenger's effort to unseat Democraticd incumbent Julia Carson. She whipped his sorry butt, held the seat until she died, and it is now filled by her grandson.

The gubernatorial primary race may have more impact tomorrow than folks realize. It's pretty much neck and neck right now, but it will bring a lot of people to the polls.
