A Whiter Shade of Pale? The Differences Between John McCain & Hillary Clinton.
Many of us are truly mistaken in rushing to draw comparisons between John McCain and George W. Bush. They are really not that much alike at all. On the other hand, the similarities between him and Hillary Clinton are far more striking to me:

John McCain voted for and supported Bush's illegal military invasion of Iraq, but has publicly criticized how Bush "managed" the war...exactly like Hillary.

John McCain, in pandering for votes has called for a temporary stop to the gas tax...just like Hillary.

John McCain calls for higher ethics in politics, but happily takes money from lobbyists and P.A.C.'s in his bid to be president...the same as Hillary.

John McCain continues to make light of destroying Iran and the Iranian people even jesting in song "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran"...just like Hillary who gratuitously suggests she would "obliterate" Iran and the Iranian people.

John McCain voted for the Kyle/Lieberman resolution in the U.S. Senate declaring Iranian soldiers "terrorists"...exactly like Hillary.

John McCain came under hostile enemy fire in a foreign war...just as Hillary -- or so she claims.

Those of us who have longed for real change in this country, real progressive change will not find it in either a John McCain or Hillary Clinton presidency. Sadly, in this, Ralph Nader is correct.

I am certain that many of you can draw other comparisons between the Senator from Arizona and the one from New York, but I will submit that suggesting that somehow the Senator from Arizona would be "President McSame" -- that is, the same as Bush -- are wrong in drawing that comparison. The more startling truth is that any differences between John McCain and Hillary Clinton -- both long steeped in the culture of Washington, D.C., both corporate darlings, both over 60, white, protestant and millionaires -- are, in my eyes, merely a whiter shade of pale in distinction.

1. Hillary's voting record is nearly identical to Obama's
and both voting records are nearly totally distinct from McCain's.

3. Duh, he didn't have the capability to even cast a vote then..
Yet, he has voted to fund it every chance he gets.

33. Once you drive the car into the ditch
there are only so many ways to get it out. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't fire the driver, especially when they show via Kyl-Lieberman that they're willing to drive it back into the ditch all over again.

And he has said he doesn't know how he would have voted...but pay no attention to that!

She voted yes on the 2001 one, which was nearly identical.

Interesting rabbit hole, thanks for prompting me to look at it closer!

where Clinton voted different from Obama, and the same as McCain.

But I can name hundreds of votes where Clinton and Obama both voted opposite McCain.

15. Ah, but John and Hillary (their names fit well together) did vote for the war.
John and Hillary have more in common than John and George. Thanks for your post, TBF. Those that are blind will choose to be blind, but excusing the war in Iraq really requires them to jump through some real hoops, huh?

29. Obama wasn't in the Senate at the time, but he voted to fund it. What's the difference.
He has voted time and again to fund the war and keep it going. If he wanted to end the war he should have had the guts to take a stand and stop the money flow.

14. The difference between Obama and Clinton is that Obama is the only one who can win the nomination
Clinton is only standing in the way.

That's the difference.

32. Obama can win...but in the Democratic Process why should Hillary leave right now...when all states
haven't voted. I care about a Democratic Party that let's ALL THE PEOPLE VOTE...that isn't decided at the TOP by some states that aren't diverse...or hand picked by "inside the Beltway Big Wigs."

That's what I think as a Democratic Party Member and "elected" Precinct Vice Chair....

24. I see that photo as Light, Real Light. and Medium.... but then Obama and Lieberman
do share some ancestors from parts of the world that's skin color is maybe darker than McCain. But,then ...McCain might check back to "Roots Web" and find that he's an Albino...for some reason..inter-marriage along his line..or that he had melanoma and doesn't do that "SUN WORSHIP" thingy. Who knows...

12. I found it on this dude's site way back on March 13th..
where I just found this pic. He's in Asheville!

"I, along with 3,499 of my best friends, saw the next First Lady of the United States speak last night at University of North Carolina-Asheville.

Folks of all ages, ethnic origins, political persuasions and socio-economic backgrounds arrived during the afternoon to get a chance to hear Michelle Obama’s message of hope, fairness and personal accountability.

In the prelude to the main event, Bob Phillips, long-time Obama volunteer, led us the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Terry Bellamy spoke in support of Obama, Gladys Knight sang “America the Beautiful” and a local woman whose name I don’t recall introduced Michelle.

Michelle Obama was passionate, humorous, informative, authentic, inspiring, intelligent, elegant and down-to-earth. While I’d hoped that the candidate himself would visit Asheville before our May 6 primary, I am well-satisfied with Michelle’s stop in our fair city."

20. From their Speeches and Campaign Message...there's not much separation except
Edited on Mon May-05-08 07:45 PM by KoKo01
that Hillary seems to be running a horrible campaign...where her folks can't even Fact Check her message or get her Campaign Literature in order so that it doesn't broadcast the wrong gun..wrong kid in video or wrong everything..that the RW can Pick Apart.

After ..all these years...I'd figure the Clintons would be "top of the list" with Internet and Campaign Ops for getting photo's and message in sync...figuring the Liberal Blogosphere would "rip them to bits" for ANY mis-step. But, sadly...they see to live in the late 80's in their philosophy about running for President having learned nothing in between.

HOW CAN THIS BE? She has SPENT MEGA BUCKS on the best in the business of Pollsters to run her failing Campaign? Inside the Beltway Mentality? That could be it..because they left Arkansas and "REAL PEOPLE" many years ago...

23. Something I don't understand . . .
How Hillary Clinton can be so nice to a man who not only called her daughter ugly, but did so from the podium at a Republican fundraiser.

I really don't get it. She's usually such a fighter - for example, she went off on David Schuster for saying she was "pimping out" her daughter, who was a full-grown adult at the time. So why is she being so gracious to this person who so viciously attacked her daughter, when she was a child?

I just don't get it.
