Poll question: Primary Do-Over Poll
This poll is a fantasy. Imagine the clock has been rolled back to a time before the hatred and before the first primary vote has been cast.

Leave your current choice at the door. Who did you support/wish for/endorse way back then? (Note, if your choice then is still your choice today, that is certainly a legitimate answer.)

3. Edwards won DU polls consistently before the MSM narrowed down our choices.

Even after for a while before insanity gripped GD-P.

8. The MSM totally marginalized Edwards ...
I was kind of a free agent at the beginning, so I didn't have a horse in the race, so to speak ...

But, clearly, Edwards was the guy the MSM was most determined to marginalize ... I think the overlooked BO, as well as were unsure of how to slime a legitimate african american POTUS candidate, while they worked to cut Edwards' knees out ...

9. Since Edwards was forced out by the corporate media,
We really don't have a top quality choice...The reason neither candidate can close the deal..Democrats can't rally make their mind.As one Democrat told me,"I change my mind on a daily basis"
We haven't had such a poor choice of Democratic nominee's since 1984.
For me,I'll be flipping a coin, but I will vote.. In reality John Kerry should be running for re-election,,My how history would have changed in just 4 short years.

23. After November, someone needs to seriously come together
and figure out how to petition our government to do something about the MSM. The way Edwards was marginalized during the debates was outrageous, while the others grandstanded. There should be specific rules prohibiting any candidate from having any more speaking time - on any level - than another. I felt the American people were robbed of the right to make our own decisions about candidates - and some Repukes feel the same way about how Ron Paul was treated.

30. Yup. Some Edwards supporters have now forgotten the reasons why and are full fledged Obamites now
Edited on Sun May-04-08 08:31 PM by jackson_dem
Hence the shift from Edwards winning 40-30 to Obama winning 40-30.

33. Good question
Looks to me like Edwards supporters were the kind of folks who actually cannot afford to give $ to a political primary campaign, maybe $25 for the entire year, in the final election. Edwards probably had a lot of poor Dems on his side. I hope they feel well represented by Obama, (or even by Hillary). I tend to think they are more supported and represented by Obama, just my view.

If he was still in the race we wouldn't be hearing about Wright and bookbags.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=3649440

I'd vote for DK, of course.

I would have voted for Edwards when DK dropped out, except that Edwards dropped out, too.

I STILL haven't voted.

Shit, at this point, I'd vote for Biden or Richardson, too, if they were just still in the race. It's too late, though. There's no one worthy of my vote left on the ballot.

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR EITHER OF THE CURRENT TWO.

21. Most polls were consistent here,
all the way until candidates started dropping out.

I think that many people, in the current war zone we're calling a primary, don't want to undermine their current choice by noting that it's not their FIRST.

34. And suppose Gore's name is
put into nomination after a deadlocked first ballot in Denver? Would he then be your first choice? This could happen. Only takes a handful of super delegates to get "cold feet" about either of the two left running now. That leaves the first ballot in a deadlock and anything can happen after that. We are urging super delegates to consider this option and give us a sure winner in November - Al Gore. To see what we've got going on, check the new web site: http://www.thealgoresolution.com/ or drop by our Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DraftGore08/ or click on the link in my sig. line. We need to let some super delegates know that the common folk are interested in what they do.

32. The minute I heard the man with the funny name............
I was on his bandwagon. I will NOT get off until Hillary rips his victory away from us.

Hillary was supported by lots of people who voted for her in Iowa and NH, as well as so many OTHER states, few of them bother to vote for her here and now... because she has proved herself NOT capable of being a person we can be proud of, as Democrats.

Thanks for this poll. Very revealing.
