And the media goes on and on STILL about this Wright shit
Edited on Thu May-01-08 06:06 PM by bigdarryl
It just proves to me that racism is alive and well thats the story not being reported on this issue. The media knows about McCains pastor and his statements but continue to completely ignore it. Theres a double standard on covering black pastors compared to people like Falwell and Hagee .

1. I don't think the issue is racism, it is...
the fact that Hillary and McCain are owned by big companies and either of them winning is a win for the owners. Obama is a loose for them, so all the media outlets are working against him.

3. I think it is a bit of both...a bit of Double-Standard and a bit of Corporate Greed ...
sure a Hagee et al. with a passionate desire for a genocide of all catholics is ok for tv and not newsworthy or Hillary's association with the Fellowship and their extremism sides but lets face it, their white and we are too and so maybe they are just misunderstood and possibly right (?) while the black guy is just...gawd...black! On the other side, you are absoultely correct that Hillary and McCain represent the corporate interests and so their win is important for their prosperity....so i think it is both but more towards corporate greed.

2. The problem is that the Obama camp is occupied by idiots.
For them to allow this thing to drag on is ridiculous.

When it first surfaced, I knew that it could die a quick death or grow legs, depending on the Obama crew's reaction(s).

They have just fucked it up.

It should have been branded as a non-issue from the beginning.

4. Honestly, i think Obama did a brilliant job in his PA speech about race....
Edited on Thu May-01-08 06:20 PM by quantass
no other politician would have tried to encompass the whole thing and create a positive wordly message...the obvious political and unthruthful thing would have been to just repudiate the thing out right but it tells me how genuine Obama is about finding solutions and telling the TRUTH.....now lets look at Hillary's history....recently it was the Colombia trade deal and she just cackled it off and tried to swing things back onto Obama...she is just plain embarassing and for you to look through a peep whole and judge Obama on this recent development and not look at the whole picture is silly....look at the big picture of BOTH candidates and tell me you see Hillary as a sincere candidate....she's an insult!

Sure, the Wright thing came back and bit him but as Obama said, the person he saw on Monday was not the person he knew for 20 years....It's like a family member...i know some friends who took home non-white boyfriends to only find out that their parents flipped out upon just seeing the boy...now how can someone blame the girl for their parent's prejudice, she didn't know but now that she does she has a choice...and so in Obama's case he has now severed his ties, undertstandable but i can feel for him since the church has done some remarkable things for society...try reading about what they've done.

7. No one really listened to that except Obama people.
I thought he looked like an amateur, standing at that podium while CNN, MSNBC, etc., showed a crawl about "Obama defends....".

While I don't really give a damn about either candidate, I do know Marketing and they have let this go on for far too long.

5. The issue is the "media"
and why is anyone surprised? We had Reverend Wright 24/7 for 3 weeks straight. Now we've had the resurrection, and who knows how long it will play this time? And if it weren't Wright, what would it be? Pat Buchanan getting apoplectic over some other mundane thing.
