If the right wants Clinton to be the nominee, why didn't they start bashing Obama earlier?
If you were the right-wing, and you had wanted Clinton to win the nomination, wouldn't you have started trashing Obama when it was early enough to derail his candidacy?

David Brooks, The Weekly Standard, Peggy Noonan, Bob Novak, all had hateful words towards Hillary and nice ones for Obama for a few months, until Hillary was trailing Obama by over 100 delegates. Then all of a sudden these phonys knew they had accomplished their goal: Knock Hillary out. Now Hillary is irrelevant since she ain't going nowhere, and you all know it.

The right is smart enough to know Obama already locked the nomination, so they started roughening him up as early as possible. Why waste time?

Look at the archives of Charles Krauthammer, George Will, and any other right-wing columnist or pundit. Who did they slam on a daily basis throughout a huge part of the primaries? Hillary. Only once bashing Obama would be of no benefit to Hillary did they start the hit parade.

The theory that the right wanted to have Clinton as their opponent makes no sense.

3. It was because they also thought Clinton was the inevitable nominee
They never dreamed that a freshman senator could kick a former first lady's @ss when she had the huge super delegate lead. Once they realized how powerful the Obama campaign was (financially and politically) they had to destroy him.

10. The GOP, the media and the pollsters all insisted Hillary was "inevitable"--until Super Tuesday

4. Because up until Rudy dropped out they were confident they could win
He was supposed to be their Hillary, the inevitable candidate they were sure would win in the GE no matter who he faced.

If you'll go back, you'll notice the GOP wasnt paying much attention to our primaries until AFTER Rudy lost big in Florida and dropped out.

They now are falling back to their old plan, but that requires a Clinton to be our nominee.

5. The right wing hate machine doesn't give a fuck who the Dem candidate is
they just want to run their lie filled and hate filled deceptive ads. Clinton? Obama? Jesus Christ? It doesn't matter who the dems nominate. The right wing trash in this country can do only one thing well and that is run god awful nasty campaigns.

7. Because the right wants the black vote and they thought the Clintons would prevail.
If Clinton prevails, watch for hour upon hour of what the Clintons did to the black candidate.

As far as the media is concerned they only want a PRO CORPORATE Democratic and Republican candidate. Do you really think they are stupid enough to put all their eggs in one basket? Now they are providing their corporate lapdogs millions of free publicity in an attempt to have them win the Democratic nomination.

8. Hillary was busy doing the right's work for them. Plus, they ASSumed, like hillary, she would beat
Sen. Obama by Feb. 5th. Also, they, like hillary, don't believe America will have a black president. Simple, no?

9. That's easy, when they thought Hill was winning they were stomping on her
they didn't see Obama as a threat until a few weeks ago- and that's when they went full tilt negative on him. And no, Obama doesn't have it locked up. They'll go after whoever they think they'll be facing. That should be obvious.
