Is it fair to call someone who propagates right wing propaganda a right wing tool?
I keep seeing posts that link to propagandists like William Kristol, Cal Thomas, Michael Medved, Newsmax and so on in the attempt to sway DUers to the views held by right wingers. So if someone is asking us to agree with these fascists shouldn't we be able to label them, correctly in my view, as right wingers?

If they are walking the walk why is it considered an insult to say so?

1. "Tool" is probably enough, as the right-winginess is implicit. n/m

2. the same reason Wright saying 9/11 was Blowback is out of bounds
no one wants to look at themselves.

"Tool of the Right Wing" sounds so much nicer, by the way. ;)

3. I agree, but the Clinton supporters seem to find comfort from the GOP
I think they need to reexamine their values, their commitment to Democratic ideals, and the person they're supporting to be our nominee, to see if they arent being mislead by a Republican in Democratic drag.

5. Not on DU.
Read the rules or talk to Skinner if you've got any questions about that.

9. Sadly, he doesn't have one.
Or at least not one that is listed in the DU rules.

That's why I'm asking how it can be considered an insult to call people who spread fascist views right wing tools. How can stating the obvious truth be considered an insult?

12. Oh, I disagree.

But it seems some people are more concerned with getting their feelings hurt then with that particular rule. Gee whiz, I wonder why that could be.

17. Unfortunately, that rule doesn't cover right wing propaganda in the primaries.
I've argued the point with Skinner and he was very firm in his ruling that DUers can use obviously right wing sources without disclosing their affiliation.

19. That's against the rules, as is personally attacking anyone on DU.
So, if you have a problem, ALERT. It's really simple. And the mods always remind us to do that instead of attacking or calling out.

The rules are written to where a 3rd grader can understand them. Are you having that much difficulty understanding them?

6. Not necessarily
I believe that it is always good to know what your enemy is up to and what they are saying. Not everything posted is a slam against a candidate as some would like to believe.

8. But that's not how you used it here, is it?
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5766050

You posted right wing propaganda without mentioning the columnist or his political views. You were spreading this crap without letting others know his leanings.

So why would it be wrong to call you a right wing propagandist?

11. It is up for discussion, that is all
The article is in a major newspaper, the most widely read in NC. Personally, I think the article is full of crap, but you are under no obligation to discuss it.

You're disseminating propaganda from right wing sources without letting people know. How can you find any sense of honor or decency in doing that?

I just think we need to stop these disgusting right wing threads.

And I'm sorry you're having a bad day of the chemo. I hope things get better for you very soon.

22. It'll be a good day when this primary is over.
Then people like you and me can come together again and the agitators can be weeded out. It really bothers me to see us fighting so fiercely.

13. if you talk like them... appropriate some moniker of success at the mention of right wing talking...
points then you might as well become one. I hear a lot of clinton supporters use statements that give comfort to right-wing talking points as if it were a validation of great opinion and I'm floored. Since people hide behind a thread they may very well be right wingers disguised as Democrats. I'm always suspicious that this may be the case. Usually when you ask them a question they can't answer it. I can feel their right-wings spreading and flying them off to some other thread to kick up a lot of dirt.

24. Yes, it is fair to call them a right-wing tool, even a freeper.
It is a grotesque and deceptive practice to link to right-wing columnists without naming the author and publication. It shows the lack of integrity on the part of the original poster, and is usually a desperation move to use right-wing attack ammunition against the Democratic candidate they don't support.

In my opinion, such posts should be locked, and the posters tombstoned. But, this is not my forum to make the rules.
