It's over. Obama is the nominee.
Win or lose, he's earned the right to try. I for one look forward to Obama's thrashing of John McCain in the debates. This is gonna be one doozy of a GE. A young(er) black man against an old white man. Frankly, I can't wait to see it, and can't wait to cast my vote for Obama. I haven't been this stoked about a candidate in decades.

The X-factor will be how much support, if any, Hillary throws behind Obama. She can surely help get the white female vote out if she is so inclined, unity ticket or not.

This is a very exciting time. Even my 8 year old daughter is plugged in to this election (though she is a HRC supporter). :)

13. I see it too. No way the delegates turn their back on all that
money and new voters. It was over before they started up with the Wright stuff. In fact, that's why the Wright thing was so fierce. They want to give the illusion that he has derailed.

Buy some Hillary shares at $0.20. If she does win as you claim, you'll be able to quintuple your money in a few months. Not a bad return on your investment I'd say.

What? Not interested? C'mon, put you money where your mouth is...

10. The best way that Hillary can help Obama after he is nominated is ...
... to lock her bitter, angry, ornery husband in the basement in their mansion in Chapaqua and not let him out until the election is over. I can very easily imagine Bill making statements that will harm Obama's campaign, under the pretext that he was just trying to help.

51. She told me
"I want the girl to win, Daddy." Which makes sense coming from an 8 year old. I didn't try to sway her thinking (not that I could anyway). I'm just glad she's aware of what's going on. She also asked me "isn't there some old man trying to be President too?" That was pretty funny. She screwed up her face all crazy when she said it, like she was chewing on a lemon.

39. As a political scientist, poll results are very important as it indicates public opinion. Obama &
Hillary's platform are virtually the same. That said, opinion polls are a slight challenge nowadays and it depends on how they were conducted, however if several polls indicate the same results, you can pretty much bet that the public opinion is in fact reflected properly. It's as scientific as that.

to be correct. based upon this wright controversy and other stuff it is hard to like obama, but may I ask a question:

If our choices are doing the right thing and losing with Obama because fair is fair OR doing the wrong thing and winning with Hillary, shouldn't the super-delegates put forth the candidate that from the get go can win?

but only she will decide who her running mate will be.

I imagine she'll probabaly pick Wes Clark, but you guys can always hold out for hope that she invites him to join her when she wins the nod, which is all but a certainty now that she will.
