Poll question: Who would you rather have as President: Nader or Lieberman?
I'm going to hold my nose and vote for Holy Joe.

1. Neither. Nader would have nobody to caucus with. Lieberman would
have the republicans.

2. It's a moot point, isn't it?
I mean, neither will ever be a viable candidate. You might as well have listed Ohio Dem as a choice, too. I'm also not a viable candidate.

That being said, I voted for Nader, because he's actually a liberal.

5. I voted for Nader as well, and I still like him, but I can't bring
myself to do it in this election. I've never felt that voting for Nader was a "wasted" vote. I feel strongly that America needs a third major political party. However, in this upcoming election season, what is more important is replacing Bush, as well as several Reps and Sens who are not doing our nation any good. We are at war for the soul of America, and we, as progressives MUST prevail.

6. I wouldn't argue that we don't need a third party.
Having a third, or fourth, of fifth party that has a chance would be great. At this point, though, a vote for anybody but Kerry is a vote for Bush. You're right to vote for Kerry. I wish we had a multiple party system, but we don't.

11. The fact is, that a multiparty system doesn't work with our constitution
Which has no mention of political parties in the first place, because the founding fathers were against them. In most countries with multiparty systems representation in the legislative body reflects party registration and the government is chosen by the party or coalition with a majority of seats. In this country, not only is congress (which to add to the problem is a bicameral body in which both houses actually have power) not only elected by party, but our executive branch is elected seperately. Could you imagine what would happen if multiple party candidates could actually get electoral votes. No candidate would reach 270 and the election would be thrown to the House every election which chooses by the bullshit single votes system, in which each state gets one vote for president regardless of size.

The advantage to having a two party system is that we have a fairly stable government that doesn't fall apart everytime a coalition falls apart or a vote of no confidence succeeds. The drawbacks are that one, if you want quick dramatic change, you're basically SOL. Also, the two parties have to appeal to a wide base of people, that is we have a center-left and a center-right party. We don't have a far left, a left, a center-left, a center-right, a right, a far right party, or not ones that have any power anyway.

The fact is that we live in a two party system, and the fact is that we need to work within it to change it.

3. Who would you prefer? Sweeney Todd or Milli Vanilli ?
holy moley, what kiind of a choice it that?

Lets suppose you had to choose between say Alien ( as in the movie ALIEN ) or
Sauron from Lord of the Rings... who'd make the better president.

As for Leiber man and Nader - you could put them both in a bottle and toss them into the Pacific. I have no use for either of them.

How about chosing between Quasimodo or Jerry Lewis?

10. Hey, I didn't say ol' Quas was my FIRST choice.
But being forced to ring the bells is better then being in a stupid movie with Dean Martin. JMHO!

At least Quasimodo would know what it's like to be a laborer!

9. Lieberman, Nader accepts Republican money
As much as I disagree with Joe on, well most things, I think that the guy at least has integrity and he sure as hell isn't helping * get another term.

12. Lieberman is a Bill Bennett clone
Although Joe has more integrity than Virtuous Bill, he is still a busy body and a preachy moron.
