MSM Turns Against Obama - We Must Continue the Fight
Edited on Fri Apr-25-08 05:08 PM by Sander
Today, the mainstream media (MSM) have begun to turn against Senator Obama. We saw this in the ABC debate the other day. The right wing, John McCain, and corporate-owned MSM are scared to death of a Barack Obama candidacy. They are using race and scare tactics try to steal the nomination so as to run against Hillary rather than Obama. Rush Limbaugh is even calling for riots at the Democratic Convention in Denver. The only way to counter this is through advertising, personal appearances, and funding of campaign expenses - all paid for by our own contributions.

I have vowed that I would contribute at least $100/month for as long as I can afford to do so, to this end. I know that everyone reading this may not be able to contribute as much. (I think I have been blessed to be able to afford to help out in this way.) However, whatever you can afford, we must continue this fight.

We must elect Barack Obama. Our future depends on it.

1. The smaller Clintons chances the more shrill the MSM will get
Im sure they have to be starting to bleed viewers by doing this, since over half the voters still prefer Obama.

I know I've stopped watching MSNBC (except for Keith) and CNN as a result.

4. I've been in that news blackout for years now.
At least American news outlets. There isn't one of them worth watching. It's not like there are any news programs that actually cover important events.

16. I hear you. I've really been a blackout since 2001. I recently
relented to stay abreast of this primary, but I cannot handle it...at all.

7. Maddow and KO
I used to watch CNN as well as MSNBC (David Gregory). But with the exception of Rachel Maddow on Gregory's show and except for KO on Countdown, I have stopped watching as well.

3. It seemed to happen overnight, didn't it?
In fact, on the very day of the last debate, the MSM began it's war on Obama. How strange that it all happened so suddenly and simultaneously. It's as though they all got a memo. Oh wait...maybe they did!

8. MSM has been anti-Dem for some time --
But the vitriolic racist and personal attacks have increased to a new level. It started with the Rev. Wright YouTube video and now, with the ABC debate, it has reached a crescendo.

9. You're definitely right about that
Lately they have been completely out of control and completely slanted against Obama.

Yesterday I was watching some MSNBC show and the talking heads were saying that Rev. Wright "threw Obama under the bus" because Wright called Obama a politician. If Obama is not a politician, then what the hell is he? It was so absurd I just turned my TV off.

10. They were never for him in the first place. He was NEVER supposed to get this far.
They were enjoying the prospects of the rough ride he was giving Hillary in the early primaries- until they realized he is for real and HE COULD go up against McCain. They weren't seriously worried about Hillary.

They are Corporatists ho's, first and last. Now-- and only now--- are they getting *transparantly* ugly.

12. The right-wing media attempts to destroy whomever the leading Democrat is.
They have to stop Obama or Hillary eventually, so they are tarring both of them now, ready to pursue whichever line of attact circumstances deliver.

Obama is only now beginning to get treated in the manner we Hillary supporters TOLD you naive Obamanians months and months ago was coming, should he prevail. Hillary has been confronting this same kind of press coverage all along, and it has been even nastier than what Obama is currently experiencing (though it will get worse.)

This also stresses the importance of the fact that Hillary has BEEN through all the attacks. Nothing the MSM or her opponents do can ruffle her feathers. She's tough and cool always.

But the moment Obama faces his first REAL press challenge, he whines and runs away (refuses to debate; refuses to allow re-votes in FL and MI). And his supporters react with outrage and disbelief, as protective of him as if he were their precious new puppy.

He ain't tough enough for the job he is applying for.

He may look good enough. He may sound good enough. He may dress good enough and he may seem cool enough for now. But, as we've already seen, when the going gets difficult, he's not tough enough to survive it.

13. I don't see it like that
I see it that MSNBC would rather run 4 hours of election coverage where it smokes FOX, rather than 4 hours of Lockup San Quentin.

Same with CNN. When it's election coverage, MSNBC & CNN kill FOX. When it's normal programming they don't.

This is about money.
