1. Ron Paul's still technically in the race - hasn't dropped out yet
Talk about living in denial.

Here in Florida, there have been reports of Ron Paul supporters getting kicked out of GOP meetings. Gotta love that!

2. So splintered it's sad
Even with a "solid" candidate and the opposition squabbling over the inevitable they can't get the insane religious folks and loony libertarians to vote for the clod...

5. How many? 200,000?
We're still turning out a ton more people than they are.

11. I know what you meant. I had these thoughts last night
The most intersting detail of the entire primary experience this time around has been the overall dem turnout compared to the overall GOP turnout. Even in red state strongholds like Texas we doubled, yes doubled, their turnout.

12. Yup...
that's exactly what happened. Voters for Paul / Huckabee appear to be a larger portion due to McCain supporters knowing there's no reason to bother.

Still looks good though. :P

I found it interesting too but some seem to only want to dwell in the gloom and doom of the Dem situation.

6. He would have had bigger numbers if 150,000 hadn't re-registered as Dems
And voted for Hillary.

8. Protest voters
I think the Huckabee voters will come around for him, but I could see a good many of those Ron Paul voters (who are all registered Republicans) either staying home, or voting for Obama (but not Hillary).

9. On my campus he received 41 votes. Yep, that's right, 41.
http://lamp.dailypennsylvanian.com/election2008/2008/04/22/results-are-in/

Obama: 1731
Clinton: 690
McCain: 41

As you can see, the youth vote is solidly behind him.

:rofl:

13. I heard several Republican voters say they were going to
vote against McCain and not really for anyone on their ticket. I worked at my local polls yesterday.

Here were the Republican results:

Registered Republican voters: 122

# of Republicans who voted: 54

McCain = 37
Huckabee = 6
Paul = 6

And 5 Republicans voted for no one for President :-).

14. So, mathwise
Hillary got 1.2 milion votes. Barack got 1 million votes

All republicans together got .8 million votes.

Given the exit polling(if Hillary, loses .16 of Barack's voters; if Barack, looses .25 of Hillary's voters) if this were directly transferable to the GE(I know, its not, whatever, still interesting)and we do a rough estimate, we could expect Hillary to get 2 million to McCains 1 million, or Barack to get 1.9 million to McCains 1.1 million.

Either way, not to shabby.
