I don't think Hillary ever got over the massive Humiliation forced on her by her Husband
I believe that it sent her over the edge, and that she's never dealt with it. Too insulated, surrounded by synchophants, all the money, aids, etc. The horror and Abject Humiliation, ongoing and incredibly Public, constantly being pushed, her Shame (because he seems to have none) of details bandied about, having to somehow protect a daughter from it all, and that had to be impossible.. You know if Bill lied to us, then he lied to HER.

I don't want her for Prez, but I do feel her pain, or she has my sympathy, and best wishes in getting some Help, because I believe she needs help, and has never come to grips with it.. In all honesty, who could?

I think she exhibits some strange actions and ReActions as a result. In some ways I think she appears to relate to Obama much like an ex-wife would, being petty, taking words, actions by him out of context, the shrieking about it for all to hear.

On top of her grief and humiliation I think she tries to show Strength by Trying "too hard" - and it comes out "Odd", the overamping, acting as if she can save the World, etc..

I think it may be one cause for all the "Shape Shifting" and constantly changing her Platforms, she protects her psyche by not being psychically in one spot for too long.

She seems "starved for Love", as my mom used to call really needy people, and warned me to stay away from them.. All the bizarre faces she makes greeting everyone, "trying" to Love them all, and expecting Love and Loyalty in return..

I think her loss, and having to try to Deal when you have political aspirations that would be crushed if she had Thrown the bastard out, which she Couldn't DO, either.. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Just an observation, but I really do believe for her own good that she should seek some help.

McCain, well, he's just crazy, as a shithouse Rat!

1. She's emotionally ill. That isn't a smear. It's an obvious observation. And her supporters
are being harmed by this whole thing now, too.

Yeah, Obama is Bill but faithful to his wife.

23. I think that many
people see Obama as having Bill Clinton's positive attributes, but not the baggage. There have been times when it appears the Senator Clinton sees that, too. If she does, it explains the dynamics in terms of her curious feelings towards Barack. I assume that is what others are saying in this thread. It makes the 2008 democratic primary more draining that the usual contests.

13. That is a smear, hense your disclaimer.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smear_campaign">Smears often consist of ad hominem attacks in the form of unverifiable rumors and are often distortions, half-truths, or even outright lies; smear campaigns are often propagated by gossip spreading. Even when the facts behind a smear are shown to lack proper foundation, the tactic is often effective because the target's reputation is tarnished before the truth is known.

Those who smear are not interested in the efficacy of their accusations, only in inflicting damage.

2. Good analysis

I also think she and Bill are both narcissists who exist only through the mirror of other peoples' approval or attention and this is why they are so desperate to get back in the very center of public attention, to win the biggest high school popularity contest ever.

And yes, McCain is as crazy as a shithouse Rat!

21. Speaking of high school,
a friend of mine is a clinical psychologist and he tells about a letter Bill Clinton got from a high school girl in 2001, asking him to speak at her graduation. And he accepted. My friend says this proves Bill is a narcissist, still needing attention and glory once he was out of office. You have to admit, it is pretty bizarre.

(which is not to imply that you are) in what ways her past battles have scarred and influenced her actions now, but for her sake(and because of her power, the sake of the party) I hope she has already done that introspection.

14. I think you should seek some help for your condescension disguised (badly, too) as concern.
And you dare to declare that you know exactly the psychological reasons for Hill's running for prez? Go join Chris 'Tweety' Matthews, dear symbolman.

And if you think yourself so good at this psych business, well you don't need to go to med school for 4 years and Psychiatry training for 3 years - just put up a shingle outside your house saying 'The Psychiatrist is In - 5 cents for a consult'.

Your bloviated sense of your psychological perceptiveness boggles the proverbial mind. Get lost.

16. You never know what goes on in someone else's marriage
This is risky ground to tread.

But it's obvious that Bill's infidelities caused her pain. And it's easy to see how becoming president would restore one's self-esteem. That may be a part of her subconscious motivation - who can know - but certainly not the only part, since even in 1992 they were talking about 2 for the price of 1.

One thing I wonder about, though, is if Obama reminds her of Bill. I think she is jealous of Bill, since in some ways she is said to have been the brains behind the operation and since he got the accolades for being president even though he's the one who messed around and messed up. Some similarities and even parallels between Obama and Bill Clinton are hard to miss. This theory would make for a psychodrama.

19. "...You know if Bill lied to us, then he lied to HER..."
Hell, SHE lied to us and makes jokes on Leno about doing it. Yeah, I'd say she has some pretty big issues...

I think you are being WAY kinder to her than I can be. When her sleazy husband was messing with Monica (of the spooged dress) he would have earned an eviction from my life had he been my husband. While I realize that not everyone feels the same way I do when it comes to infidelity, I suspect that maybe my views are shared a little more widely than not.

I don't think it is my place to judge, per se, when it comes to any body's marriage. That sort of thing really IS between the people involved. Having SAID that, however, I also have to point out that when you run for higher office, you are signing up to have people in your personal business. You are, essentially, inviting a certain level of judgment--even IF it is not any body's business.

She did not divorce hm when he humiliated her in the worst possible way. WHY? That single question still is out there for a lot of people if they are being dead honest about it, and I think that colors the perception that she is somehow dishonest even about her own feelings.

Put very plainly, in some folks' eyes she either ignored what he did because she is THAT ambitious, or else she lied to herself about what he did. Neither of those scenarios increase the average voter's comfort with her.

22. Bingo
I guess this is what bothers me the most, but you have to admit that had to hurt like hell.. Don't think anyone but her can ever comprehend it..

I guess I'd have to say that she has more class than some of her followers, but of course no matter what you say they hate you..

She seems to be begetting balls of pain where ever she goes, and it shows. Oh, and having an opinion is not smearing. And for those that told me about crazy people, after my stint in the US AF during Vietnam I worked with victims of she'll shock in a VA, 300 of them. My job was to read all of their case histories and observe them for any PAIN they might exhibit, since most could no longer communicate.

I can read people quite well, and still diagnose to the point where I've casually saved lives by sending folks packing to their doctor, naming the disease before their doctor did.

Hillary is not well, and wishing her well is like wishing a flat tire would fix itself..

She should go home.

24. Nominated.
Your OP explains, for those who have not noticed it yet, the reason for the strange dynamics .... Hillary can say -- and mean -- that she is honored to be on the same stage with this young champion. A few days later, she is raising her voice, saying, "Shame on you, Barack." I would think that there is zero chance that Hillary doesn't recognize Barrack has all Bill's positives, but not the baggage.
