13. Why would we count FL?
FL's legislators broke the rules. They cheated.

It's terrible that FL voters have to lose primary representation because of this, but FL as a state has nobody to blame but their legislators

16. I don't want to sound patronizing, but I agree.
I know there are a lot of rightfully upset Floridians. As I said, it IS terrible that they won't have a voice in this primary.

However, their own elected representatives are to blame. I'm hoping the good that comes from this bad situation will be that people learn that rules ARE occasionally enforced.

17. As a Floridian I have been patronized, condescended to, dismissed, ridiculed...
you name it. I really wish people could tell the difference between a Floridian Republican and a Floridian Democrat. Sadly our state government is dominated by republicans for reasons I cannot fathom. I am personally acquainted with quite a number of Floridian Democrats who screamed bloody murder when they got the first whiff of this. And then there were many of us who found out too little too late.

City councilman, mayor, county commissioner, state rep, state senator, governor, U.S. Rep, one Senator and the President....my chain of representation is solidly republican with the exception of Senator Bill Nelson. Need I say more?

Florida Democrats, the rank and file registered voters at any rate, do not deserve what happened to them. A Republican dominated (still a supermajority?) state legislature and a dumbass state party apparatus are to blame. The people know darned well that rules are occasionally enforced. That's why we're pretty sure this was no "oopsy, our bad."

19. You DO realize that Florida Dem legislators laughed on tape at their own bill to protest the date?
I realized that the Florida legislature is Repub-run. So does the DNC. Had the Dem legislators made ANY real effort to obey the primary date rules, I have no doubt that the DNC would have been sympathetic and made things right.

They didn't. They introduced a bill in protest of the date change and said on video that they were going to present it as "proof" that they tried to obey DNC rules. Then, laughing, they said that they "really, really" wanted it to pass.

Florida Dem legislators poked the bear that is the DNC and they got exactly what they deserved.

...I just wasn't aware that you meant that knowing what they did, specifically.

There are a lot of Floridians here who don't seem to know that they taunted the DNC.

and gleefully looked forward to the big ole F-U (and I don't mean Florida University) they planned to give to all the other states...

THEY did not stand up for you guys.. Obama had NO part of any of it... He just went on his way, campaigning state by state winning... HRC is the one who colluded with the FL bosses & Granholm, to try and jumpstart her "over by Feb5".. coronation..

Floridians should see about replacing the horrible STATE reps they elected..the ones who so eagerly sold you all out..just for the goodies the HRC people promised them after she had locked it all up..

The catch? ROOOOOOOOLZZZZZZZZ...

23. Okay, where did I say anything about any particular candidate?
I also very clearly, well at least I thought it was pretty clear, indicated that I hold the legislature and party apparatus responsible. It's pretty hard for registered democrats to affect change when they're being routinely outvoted by republicans and independents and NPAs who vote republican. And represented by a state party that sold them out.

They did not stand up for you guys? Talk about preaching to the choir!

What the hell did Obama and Clinton have to do with this when the rule breaking started?

14. You naively underestimate Puerto Rico's voting power

I honestly don't see it being over that soon. I wish, but Hillary's team is going to start strong-arming superdelegates and go for the full-court press next week, and do anything they can until the last shred of hope for victory is gone. I give it til the following weekend.
