A Quick Comment To The Clinton Supporters Trying To Scare People Into Supporting Clinton...
... The typical way you do this is by something of the form "omgwtfbbq! We're doomed (DOOMED!!!) in the general election if Obama wins the primary!".

You're welcome to continue to use your fear-mongering scare tactics as long as you like - who knows, there's a small-ish chance that they might even work (I wouldn't even bet *your* money on it though). But I just wanted to mention that for the most part, you're only preaching to your own choir. Clinton, and her supporters are the fear-based part of Democratic party, and the fear-mongering tactics really only work on them. Obama is one representative of the hope-based segment of the Democratic party - and hope is the Holmes to Moriarty's fear.

If you want to convince people, it's commonly helpful to know your audience, and the sorts of things to which they're likely to respond positively. Even mild Obama supporters aren't likely to respond to fear in the way that you do - that's why they're Obama supporters in the first place.

Rood ruck!

1. Hope is frosting on despair
I don't know why anyone would present such a substanceless, useless thing as an offering to supporters.

11. When it's backed up with sound policy, leadership, and ethics, it has MORE than substance...
It has power.

And he has her beat on at least one of those, while she's lucky to be even on the others.

17. BS - hope has no power. Now a commitment to something concrete is better
And even that has no power until it actually is realized. If people were not in despair they would have no use for hope. Hope is for people who are currently in despair. And even then, it's weak.

21. Your ignorance of his commitments does not nullify them. Sorry.
If you'd like, I'd happily entertain her 'concrete commitments'.

Anytime you'd like.

Thanks.

7. Let them keep going
It's better than having them actually try to help her campaign.

Also, it's good for a laugh.

13. I haven't seen this but I have seen attempts to threaten and intimidate by Obama supporters!
The nastiness has gotten so bad that They ( yes"They") have persuaded me not to vote for him under any condition. The thought of supporting anyone who attracts support such as Obama sickens me. Many Obama supporters behave like brown shirts complete with terrorizing old women. Many in the Obama army have attempted to bully and scare me into supporting him. They have routinely called me a racist and thrown SCOTUS in my face. They have told me as a life long Dem I am a traitor if I don't like Obama. I have never seen such a disgustingly filthy and sexist campaign in my lifetime..

15. Yup, completely naive.
When Obama actually loses the GE, many people on this board will be in denial and blame HRC or the media or whatever. Then, they will nominate someone equally unelectable 4 years later, they will lose again, and the process will continue. People will keep saying that rationality is fear mongering, and the democrats will keep losing. And our soldiers will keep dying in Iraq, and the Supreme court will turn hard right. But to an Obama supporter, as long as we "aren't giving into fear" by thinking rationally, everything is A-OK.

19. I laugh at the verbal jousting with Obama supporters..
the topic is (example) Obama, and they will post reams and reams of irrelevant BS relating back to Bill Clinton's presidency. I mentally strike all the irrelevant words from the post and there is nothing left but a few off point insulting invective geared to elevate the low self esteem of the poster. Tell me how this will help Obama against Republicans if he is the nominee? It won't!
