I'm worried about the Kerry campaign.
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 11:10 PM by alexwcovington
All this wild media speculation going around over the VP -- I can't help but wonder if the campaign is trying to float some balloons.

At this stage in the game, Kerry should have made his mind up, and be waiting for the right moment.

1. did you see or read what Kerry said
he said they don't know anything. which means those leaking are most likely doing it based on what they are hoping for. but it's not too unusual. and nothing to worry about.

2. No way, Most never make their pick until after the convention.
So long as Kerry stays in statistical tie range, he will hold off on his pick.

3. I think he has
He has made is mind up, I mean. I think the "interviews" are just protocol. The floating of names creates interest and excitment about the pending announcement (a few weeks away, now).

5. There's no down side.
It's OK - there's no cost to this and brings earned media.

What bothers you about it? The only thing that bothers me is that

THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!

6. The publicity is good. Free press.
And it gets opinions back to him (Kerry). I think this is great. All the speculation and all. It's like an opera, building to a crescendo.

Methinks the Kerry camp is very good at strategy.
