Anybody notice how Kerry actually has a vision and Bush doesn't
I'll admit that when you're president running for re-election you have to try and make it look like you've done a good job in office. But even a great president (and chimp is far from a great president) can't fix every problem in four years. But that's not what George Bush thinks. Whenever he gives a speech, he makes it sound like things are perfect in this country (except for the fact that the terra-ists are out to get us). He won't even acknowledge the fact that 40 million people don't have health care, that public schools suck, that kids can't afford to go to college, and that despite the fact that there are plenty of low-paying jobs qualified people can't find good ones. Kerry acknowledges all of this and has a plan to fix it. In November it won't matter how well the right does painting a picture of a good economy. People who don't have a job and can't find one know that the economy is not good. Bush will get the conservatives and a few people who find him better than Kerry. But the fact is that Bush won't connect with average Americans because he's too damn arrogant. Kerry will win, and he'll win big time.

2. Notice how Kerry has his speeches memorized and only glances at notes
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 12:08 AM by dArKeR
every few minutes and looks at the notes for only 2-3 seconds compared to aWol hardly able to read and speak directly from a teleprompter?

Why aren't univeristy trained journalists not able to see and report such obvious facts? That's what their job is supposed to be. That's why they get free broadcasting licenses from the Feds.

3. Major media outlets are supposed to appear unbiased
Saying that Bush sucks at speaking and Kerry doesn't would be way too controversial.

5. Very good point
I wish the media would really call Bush for his inarticulation rather than just acting as if that's some sort of partisan charge. It's quite obvious the guy writes Zero of his speeches nor does he ever go over them in advance or he wouldn't have to look down at his paper with the speech on them every two seconds.

Stupid Puppet....

4. Shrub says he has a vision and he knows what that vision is....
...he just won't tell the rest of us what it is. Faith-based I suppose, if you believe in God then you know that George W Bush who was chosen by God (actually nine U.S. supreme court justices who have nothing in common with God) can do no wrong. Bushit!

6. That's why that one Kerry line of
"He doesn't have a record to run on, he has a record to run away from" is so powerful. Bush has not once outlined his "positive vision" for America. He has yet to highlight any true accomplishments. All he does is spend all his time tearing Kerry down, which is why so many people really aren't interested in helping him get reelected.

9. I disagree
Although the mainstream media is more concerned with things like guess the VP game, pretend that Reagan is still alive, and Bill Clinton's book, the idea that John Kerry actually wants change in this country still comes across and Bush simply trying to make things look good comes across as well. Even if the media says that the economy is good, somebody who can't find a job, no matter how hard they look knows that the economy is not good. Kerry's vision will come out in the debates. For example, when Kerry proposes a new plan for education, Bush will defend the No Child Left Behind Act using some made up statistics. In addition to the fact that Kerry will own Bush in a debate about education, the people who's kids to go terribly underfunded public schools know that the No Child Left Behind Act hasn't done jack shit to improve their kids' schools. At this point there is no question as to who to vote for if you want improvement to schools, because Bush isn't even proposing to improve schools, as far as he's concerned those standardized tests and holding kids back have completely fixed America's education system. It's the same thing on many issues that are important to Americans. Despite the fact that some argue that Kerry is uncharismatic, he will win because he will propose a vision of a better America. With Bush, the only thing people will see is a man who thinks that there are no problems in America (except for Terra) when clearly there are.
