What Hillary wishes she could say.
This is from Politico so take it with a huge grain of salt. (pssst. They are not on our side either way)

The article says Clinton thinks Obama can't win in November so she is saving the party by staying in "until the last dog dies".

Clinton apparently believes Obama will lose the Jewish vote (Jewish voters are wanting a reason to vote GOP because the republicans are more supporting of Israel the article says. Of course, I say they are only supportive of Israel because it gives them an excuse to fight wars for oil but I can understand wanting to get support from wherever you can.)

She believes he'll lose the Latino vote because McCain is not horrid on immigration.

She believes Obama can't connect with blue collar voters. (I'm not sure why she does, maybe Bill's 8 years of peace and prosperity?)

It's a long article and not much else there but if you want to read it, it's here: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0408/9564.html

I'm more persuaded by this argument at Balloon-Juice: http://www.balloon-juice.com/?p=10106

He quotes Matthew Dowd who told Rove in 2000 that 20 years ago, 22% of the electorate was swing voters but in 2000 it was only 6 or 7 percent. He reasoned they could lose the full 6-7% and still win the election if they could get the base out which is what Dowd says Rove did. He says we acted like we were going after the 6-7% with some centrist message but all of our money and all of our resources were spent on getting out the base.

I think Clinton is wrong about Obama winning but that's not really the point. The point is, Obama is right and the gun loving church going small town people are never going to vote for us, at least not in significant numbers to make it worth throwing over our ideals for them. That's not the way to win either.

Anyway, it might explain why Hillary seems so delusional right now. She sees herself as saving the party and the country, not just herself.
