Reagan had better values than Carter? Bullshit.
Democrats voted for Reagan and did not elect Carter for a second term because of the illegal deals the Republican party was making with Iran. Also, Americans were a lot more naive about oil and the environment at the time and didn't like Carter's plans to wean the US from oil. Instead they were more willing to buy into the fairy tales told by Reagan about a new morning in America.
