Handy Guide to how Omama's "bitter" comments point truth about the Clintons and Free Trade
Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 12:04 AM by zulchzulu
I know. You'd think the server would crash when you put "truth" and "Clintons" in the subject line. It's OK...

Right. Anyway, so here is what Barack Obama said...(big hint here everybody)..in San Francisco! That's right...snooty tooty friggin' you know what they are San Franfancysissyco...yeah, even in the Mission District, hombre.

OK, here:

Hillary Clinton and John McCain wasted little time in blasting Obama, accusing him of elitism, condescension and insensitivity to the little-town blues of working-class Americans.

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama told supporters at a San Francisco fundraiser Sunday, according to a transcript posted on the Huffington Post blog.

"It's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations," he added.

Holy phony cackles! I am as shocked as Monica Lewinsky getting ejaculated on with the wifey down the hall!

How dare some uppity n%gger, born of an elitist background where his father left him before he got to know him and where he ended up living in semi-poor conditions with his adopted grandparents, be so "elitist"? What does he know about poor people? OK, he's from a poor background...but he went to Harvard and graduated from Harvard Law School where he was the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review. A n%gger? What? how can that be? Maybe, as Bill Clinton suggested, he could do an ad about how he never stole cars...great idea, Bill!

Wait...hold on.... shhhh.... sniper fire.... Pow! Bing! Ding! Wow, that was close!

OK, like I was saying, Barack Obama made that utterly odd statement that people in small towns that now have no more family stores on Main Street with a Walmart on the beltline and whose semi-employed parents have their precious sons and daughters on the Iraq front line. Yeah. He says they are bitter. They fall for things that the Clintons are responsible for.

Because their life is not doing well, they hate gays. It's funny that the Defense of Marriage Act, signed by Bill Clinton, has offered the Religious Riech the opportunity to use that hateful piece of legislation to use anti-gay resolutions to get out the "vote". Yep, when you're unemployed and all the good jobs have left town, there's always Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to remind you that the gays are the "problem". Take that Hate Pill and say "ah"!

Then of course, there's NAFTA. Yep, Bill and Hillary were for it, even though Hillary lies when she says she was against it. Whoops! Those White House records when she was First Lady (as opposed to First Intern) prove she is LYING about her support for NAFTA:

As John Nichols, with The Nation, stingingly points out:

Now that we know from the 11,000 pages of Clinton White House documents released this week that former First Lady was an ardent advocate for NAFTA; now that we know she held at least five meetings to strategize about how to win congressional approval of the deal; now that we know she was in the thick of the manuevering to block the efforts of labor, farm, environmental and human rights groups to get a better agreement. Now that we know all of this, how should we assess the claim that Hillary's heart has always beaten to a fair-trade rhythm?

Now that we know from official records of her time as First Lady that Clinton was the featured speaker at a closed-door session where 120 women opinion leaders were hectored to pressure their congressional representatives to approve NAFTA; now that we know from ABC News reporting on the session that "her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA" and that "there was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time;" now that we have these details confirmed, what should we make of Clinton's campaign claim that she was never comfortable with the militant free-trade agenda that has cost the United States hundreds of thousands of union jobs, that has idled entire industries, that has saddled this country with record trade deficits, undermined the security of working families in the US and abroad, and has forced Mexican farmers off their land into an economic refugee status that ultimately forces them to cross the Rio Grande River in search of work?

As she campaigns now, Clinton says, "I have been a critic of NAFTA from the very beginning."

But the White House records confirm that this is not true.

Her statement is, to be precise, a lie.

Say it isn't so? Hillary was a Closer on NAFTA talks to shove this disastrous legislation down our throats? How could that be? She says she was against NAFTA from the start? When was that, 2005?

OK, NAFTA sucks, right?

Then there's the China Free Trade Bill...yep! You guessed it, Bill Clinton signed that too! Wow! Isn't that great! Yee haaa!!!

Oh...um...wait... it turns out that Hillary Clinton voted for China free trade... and a little birdie told me that it's not so good for the Pennsylania economy:

“In just a few short years, tens of thousands of Pennsylvania jobs have been shipped to China ,” said AAM Director Scott Paul. “The presidential candidates are rightly concerned about the potentially damaging effects of unfair trade and they need to focus more attention on our record trade deficits with China , which have cost us more than 1.8 million jobs since 2001. Vigorous enforcement of our trade laws will ensure American workers and companies have the chance to compete in a fair global market. We call on the presidential candidates to make this commitment to the voters of Pennsylvania .”

AAM’s analysis of Economic Policy Institute data found that Pennsylvania lost 78,200 jobs from 2001-2006 (all sectors) as a result of the U.S. trade deficit with China . That works out to an average of 15,640 lost jobs per year. Using an identical analysis, AAM found that Pennsylvania lost 44,173 jobs from 1993-2004 (all sectors) as a result of NAFTA, for an average of 4,016 jobs lost per year .

PENNSYLVANIA JOB LOSS

Due to CHINA 78,200 2001-2006
Due to NAFTA 44,173 1993-2004

So that crazy Barack Obama...an elitist n&ger who just so happens to point out the truth...

On Edit: I forgot...

So I was watching CNN with the Brunette replacing Lou Dobbs on Friday Night talking with Rollins (RNC) and two devout Hillary pimps saying that this story was an "11" out of 1-10. You could tell as the commercial break was coming tha they knew they were friggin' lying,

Then this morning, feeling sadistic, I was watching Fox News where they had some Central Casting Repug woman saying shit like everything is fine with "everybody I talk to" followed immediately by the story about GM having the worst quarter EVER...GM makes bombs, y'all... even in a fucked-up war, they did badly.

Watching Hillary's "response" to the "bitter" statements has shown me that she really is a Republican.

Apology Section: The Monica Lewinsky part was due to the frustration that I walked miles for Bill Clinton in 1992 and have felt betrayed by what he became after we fought our asses off to get him in the Oval Office. Yes, I feel betrayed by what Bill Clinton was supposed to be.

Edited on Sun Apr-13-08 12:00 AM by zulchzulu
I know him personally. He was/is a hardcore Kucinich fan...followed by Edwards...and now for Obama.

He is a genius when it comes to politics, constitutional law, journalism and all matters Zappa.

Don't diss John. If you're ever in Madison, WI, I'll hook you up. Beware. You will have to be a thinker.

16. John Nichols is brilliant. Always worth reading.
I've watched his impeachment segment on Moyers' show many times because what he says is so packed, you never get it all the first time.

6. Obama's message on this will actually be seen as THE TRUTH
The Clintons are responsible for NAFTA, China Free Trade and DOMA. These policies have destroyed the middle and lower class and have enabled people to be homophobes due to their frustration.

This issue will smack down hard on the Clintons as the phony arguments by people like Rendell are seen as shallow garbage.

7. Watching Rendell lie like a Clinton is disheartening to me
I just watched Ed Rendell, who I actually respected until he blindfully started pimping for the Clintons (he must know they lost?) trying to make what Obama said as more of an issue as per what a Republican would think to defend his stance as a Hillary supporter.

Rendell knows that the China free trade deal and NAFTA had screwed over Pennsylvania jobs. I hope so. He can blame the Clintons for helping that happen.

If Rendell doesn't know that, he needs to resign immediately.

is this the preview of coming events in the next whitehouse? is`t this what we have experienced in the last 7+ years? breaking the trust of people for political gain?

when is this going to stop?

10. The timing for the "story" was a bit odd indeed
As of early on Friday morning, the story for the weekend was going to be Bill lying about Hillary lying about her lies about being the Heroine of Tuzla.

Yep! That story went away.

Now...suddenly, Barack is an "elitist".

11. Another HILARIOUS Faux Snooze segment on the "issue"
I was watching Fox News (to see the spin) and they had some guy in a diner in Allentown.

The reporter was asked by the the host why the diner was so empty and the reporter then asked the owner of the place why nobody was in his diner except for him and a couple drunks at the bar.

He muttered that the jobs were gone and that gas is too high and people don't have money to go out anymore... She asked him what he thought about Obama's statement (which I am sure he had no idea what he said) and he muttered like a bot that "he is an elitist".

This dude has probably NEVER said the word "elitist" until this interview. I bet he doesn't even know how to spell the word.

15. You miss the point
The uproar is mainly due to Obama's comments about religion and guns.

17. The Clintons are truly tasteless, classless slimebags
I'm watching both Bill and Hillary play up the phony angle that the "bitter" comment and Obama's apology for it offending people are not enough. They are simply political opportunists that will sink to the lowest level to try to save their asses. I would hope the voters in Pennsylvania see past this nonsense.

What people have said about the timing of the story, which was a week old, is very suspect. Bill's lying about Hillary lying and his financial gains from the Colombia speech were going to be the big story this weekend. Now, as I watch CNN and MSNBC spin it, they simply refer to how Obama made insulting remarks to "the working class being bitter". The context of Obama's statement is now completely spun to favor the Clinton camp.

Obama really needs to finally take the gloves off and smack the Clintons down for the NAFTA and China MFN trade deals, which have decimated Pennsylvania's working class. He has to do it hopefully in this Wednesday's debate.
