Arbeit Macht Frei
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 10:48 PM by MannyGoldstein
Any bitter Americans should be remembering this. It is only through the hard working of the common American Volk that they will prosper.

Work harder! Work harder! You are not bitter, believe me!

3. Huh?
I know Auschwitz references are all the rage among a particular brand of paranoid, but your post literally makes no sense. What in the fuck are you even talking about?

5. "Work makes you free"...
...as in "Roll up your sleeves. You're resilient and hard-working. You're not bitter."

9. for what it's worth, this is not an auschwitz-specific reference; dachau had the slogan first
it appeared in a number of concentration camps, auschwitz was merely one of them.

11. Did You Know That Dachau Is On The Munich Subway Line?
Get off the train, the camp is right across the street; not hidden out in the woods someplace.

You can go see the gas chambers, the crematoria, the guillotine... and then walk two blocks to have a refreshing beer in the lovely, centuries-old village.

Ah, the banality of evil.

13. been there, actually.
didn't know about the subway connection. i wonder if it existed when i was there in 1972.
i remember we drove around and asked locals for directions and found it a tad implausible that NO ONE seemed to know where it was, even people who lived just down the road from it.
