Obama gaff guarantees the primary will not be over after PA
or Indiana, North Carolina, etc, etc

"I'm not bitter" stickers are already being made, campaign commercials to follow. It has become a part of every stump speech of Clinton's.

McCain is talking about it because it can be used in the GE.

This will go to the convention, Obama's gaff will have even greater 'legs' in a GE, and Hillary can make her case to the super delegates.

Should be the most interesting convention ever!

Keep talking Obama, America is listening.

1. I disagree
Obama's lead is too great to be overcome. The primaries can be said to be over as we speak.

12. Bingo!!!
And worse than that we can kiss goodbye to democratic majorities in both houses.

If it goes to the convention the many many people that had been involved with the campaigns will bore out and likely leave politics and find better things to do.

There will be zip time afterwards to campaign.

Etc...

40. Maybe not:
whoever the nominee is coming out of the convention is going to get a huge bump in the polls, it being so close to the GE the repubs may not have enough time to regroup.

It could be the saving grace of this drawn out primary.

47. Wrong.
The GOP Convention is the following week. It won't be much time for a huge bump for the Democrats.

The more the primary season is drawn out, the better it is for McCain and you know it.

Unless Hillary figures out a way to disenfranchise all of Obama's voters. she won't be the nominee. If she actually manages to do that, she will alienate half the party and will be unable to win the general.

11. A "gaff" is a pole with a hook used to get fish into a boat.
As far as Obama's supposed "gaffe", I hope it gets this kind of press through the NC primary. This is going to be good for him. He speaks truthfully about issues that other politicians are afraid to address and he does it in plain language...and, in doing so, raises the character of the discussion.

43. I don't think it is over
with just over 150 ish difference the SD are going to select the nominee. If either candidate had a lead larger than the SD count, then it would be over.

It will have to go to the convention because there is no way either will drop out when they are so close.

The stump speeches will end in June, the fundraising will continue and they will both continue to get press coverage with ups and downs for each all summer.

It will be over after the convention.

48. Honestly
This will be decided before the convention one way or the other. There probably will be a super delegate caucus or Primary where you have to publically endorse. If the presumptive nominee does something stupid between that time and the convention it could be changed on the floor.

It's already over for Hillary. Her only hope is a superdelegate coup d'etat and that isn't going to happen. She has lost SDs since Super Tuesday while Barack has gained some +70. That's a big giant clue for you. Open your eyes and quit supporting the knee-capping of Barack who will most certainly be the Democratic nominee.

31. American's are BITTER
My only disappointment with the "remark" is that Obama is offering an apology to anyone who was "offended". The fact is that this is going to work heavily in Obama's favor, because American's really are bitter......bitter at Bush and his cronies who have so damaged this nation. We are bitter about the economic situation; We are bitter at the disaster in Iraq; We are bitter about the response to Katrina; Bitter about so many other things that have turned the country on it's collective ear.

The amazing aspect about the whole story is that, unbelievably, McCain and Sen. Clinton, both of whom voted for the Iraq invasion, both of whom have been at the nexus of power in Washington for the last sixteen years, both of whom represent the kind of politization that is so damaging to the civil discourse, are FEIGNING offense at the "bitter" remark. Unbelievable!!

I couldn't disagree more with Goldie's post. This will be the final nail in the Clinton coffin. And I feel badly about that. Sen. Clinton is a great American and President Clinton was one of our finest Presidents -EVER! But their time is over and their recent conduct is pathetic and sad.

If Sen. Clinton should, by some miracle, get the nomination, I will support her and work hard for her. But I am convinced that won't happen and if she doesn't win Pennsylvania by at least ten points, she needs to rescue her dignity and good name by withdrawing and putting her full and considerable weight behind Obama so we can end the national nightmare.

33. The Bitter stickers were made long ago.......as soon as the Clinton operative got
what was needed on tape.

However, voters have time to "mull it over"....and ask themselves just how further up their arms they are going to have to roll their sleeves to make any headway in this country? They will answer that question on April 22nd, and don't be surprised if the answer that they come up with may not be in keeping with Clinton's plan to win based on going against the truth of the message that Obama has made. To underestimate both Barack Obama and the American people may just be the last thing that Clinton's campaign does before breathing its last breath.

This will spur a massive movement of superdelegates to him the week following and force Clinton from the race.

More than that, it will force both Clintons out of our national political life, and that will be a joyous thing.
