Will Hillary continue her campaign
if, after all the primary contests end, Obama has more of the popular
vote and 100+ more pledged delegates, plus enough SD endorsements to push him over the 2025 number? I know she says she's willing to go all
the way to the convention, but I can't see her doing that under the above circumstances.

To date, even though I think she's pulled some pretty ugly stuff over the last few months, I don't think she's done anything irreparable. If she insisted on staying in after Obama had enough SD endorsements
to get to 2025, what would the repercussions be? Could she even do it?
And why would any dem support such a thing? If Hillary got enough SD
endorsements to reach 2025, I sure as hell would want Obama to drop out and endorse her. I just don't understand the mentality that supports fighting it all the way to the convention. It's so self-defeating.

1. I thinks she'll continue on to the convention if...
...she sees any way of winning - no matter how slight. She's already asked pledged delegates to vote for her at the convention and the sd's can change any time.

In her defense: How many times can you run for president and be this close and not take it as far as you can go? She's spent a tremendous amount of money, has a lot of support (just not as much as she thought she had).

I think the only way she drops out is if her money dries up. They already have about as much bad press as they can take on the bill-paying - so I think money will be the deciding factor if she drops out before the convention.

2. I think we'll have a good idea come June 3
By then, the Obama leaning SD's will step forward to get him to 2025, at which point I can't imagine the party would tolerate fighting much longer. Taking it to the convention is just not going to happen.

4. At that point, Obama should begin VP deliberations, select a running mate by July 4
start his national campaign and turn her into Ralph Nader by the convention.

5. Surely if he can get to 2025
she will be able to let it go. She would expect him to. And her donations would have to dry up if it looks like it is over. I just hope it doesn't keep going to the point where our chances in Nov. are destroyed. I would expect either of them to stop and support the candidate who has enough delegates to win. I know I am going to support that candidate. It's just too bad that we aren't using this time to pound McCain when he is making so many stupid mistakes. He is going on TV and looking like a cuddly teddy bear to a lot of people. :grr:
