To set the record straight
I still love Sir Elton John, even though he damned people who would not vote for HRC to hell. He is an awesome songwriter and singer!

3. LOL... Abby, of course he didn't - you know that.

Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 11:54 PM by DearAbby
but I wonder, if you played his records backwards real slow...you get this evil sounding voice, saying DAMN AMERICANS TO HELL...

Why Someone like Hannity could snip that into a 30sec loop and play it over and over an over and over again and again and again...

But I still love Sir Elton John!

16. Kinda like racism has played a role in this campaign, notably in Ohio and Texas
Edited on Thu Apr-10-08 12:18 AM by TTUBatfan2008
In Ohio, it was whites. In Texas, it was Hispanics. Which one's the bigger factor between sexism and racism? Well, nearly 60% of the voters in the Democratic primaries are women. I think sexism certainly exists in voting but in the Democratic primary season it's not as bad as it would be in the Republican primary or the general election since the genders are closer percent-wise in those elections. The so-called "Reagan Democrats" are basically Republican-lite and plenty of them hold similar, conservative social views. So between the two, which one matters more to them? Gender or race? Considering the GOP's nominee was against MLK holiday, I'm gonna guess that race is a bigger problem for that party as far as voting goes, but I think both Obama and Clinton would have tons of Republicans voting against them based on prejudice. It's the party of intolerance and their leaders encourage it.

23. If misogynists really voted in the dem primary
they would have been republican crossovers who listen to Limbaugh. I'm sure that the misogynists are causing Hillary to lose this primary.

And there are actually DEMOCRATS at DU who are upset about that?

13. Isn't that what happened with Pastorgate?
They purposely took this man's sermon out of context and created a media storm about it. Aren't you the least bit worried the same thing can happen with Sir Elton's comment?

then politics are probably too much of a challenge for you to navigate.

12. They're trying to compare Elton's declaration against bigotry to McClurkin/Wright's bigotry
Edited on Thu Apr-10-08 12:11 AM by Maddy McCall
There's no comparison.

They have latched onto this as if it somehow cancels out McClurkin and Wright.

It's simply ludicrous to compare the two. And any rational person knows this.

One thing that this primary season has shown me, at DU, is that there are a lot of fucktarded novices here.

21. nope, sorry
You said we can't decide anything based on Hannity, but isn't one of your arguments that Obama will be hurt by all the Hannity's of the world about Wright in the GE, and that's a reason to vote for Hillary?

If you didn't say it, tons of other Hillary fans have surely said it.
