Spectacular: Five New Clinton TV Ads in PA
Edited on Wed Apr-09-08 12:55 PM by OzarkDem
Great new set of ads Clinton is unveiling this week in PA with endorsements, her message about the economy, jobs and health care and her family roots in Scranton.

Go Hillary!

On edit, due to technical difficulties fifth ad is linked in post below
For Obama supporters, below means: LOOK DOWN

40. DU Obama supporters have made their own choices
The decision by many (not all) of them to use an unusually personal, insulting, right wing, slash and burn style on DU to support their candidate has cost them the respect of fellow Clinton supporters.

I can't speak for others, but I've lost a great deal of respect after seeing the true character of many who engage in these juvenile tactics and that opinion is highly unlikely to change after the primaries.

Hate is for Obama / GOP supporters. It suits them well.

6. Right on queue -- Obama campiagn's strategy is working and causing Hillary to finally use her money
which will haunt her in the next primaries.....its a clever plan by Obama....i can understand Hillary's lackluster effort before because of her ego that she had a large lead but with Obama's intelligent campaigning she is now forced to use her tiny cash, endangering her chances for future contests...

10. I hope she's paying CASH for stuff in PA..
There's already a long line of people waiting to get paid for their help to her campaign.. It's doubly galling when it happens in distressed states, where those businesspeople are relying on getting paid, so THEY can pay their workers..

C'mon, H...pay up front..show us you can manage money :)

7. I have to say, I really like the Scranton one with the baby pictures
I saw it on the news last night and I really liked it. I love how at the end it morphs from the little girl to the grown woman running for president. I have to admit, for a few seconds, that ad made me almost want to see her win. Very powerful.

14. I'm glad you felt that. I think sometimes, in all the rhetoric,
People are losing track of the fact that her campaign is groundbreaking in its own way.

I would love to hear, in my lifetime, the phrase "Madame President". I would probably burst into tears.

Heck, when the field was narrowed to just Obama and Clinton, and they walked out together in that debate, I did tear up. I wish there wasn't so much rancor. I would love to recapture that moment again. It sounds as if that ad accomplished that, to a degree.

Together, they would be VERY effective. It would be kind of fun if it was Obama/Hillary (or vice versa) vs. McCain and Rice. How strange and wonderful that would be. People would really have to throw aside their intrenchments about race and sex and actually vote for policy.

21. I would love to hear "Madam President" too
And that's the main reason why I would still be excited to vote for her even though I prefer Obama. Sometimes as a woman I even feel guilty for not supporting her.

Either way we have the chance to make history this year, and I hope we don't blow it by getting so caught up in our candidates that we can't put aside our resentment and work our asses off for the eventual nominee once we have one.

Cause it would be pretty freakin sad if a commercial that only showed the candidate got people so emotionally worked up that they couldn't see past gender and decided to vote for her cause the ad was just so darn good at pulling heartstrings.

Grab your legal pad and take notes. If there is any "wonkish" policy jargon that you don't understand, then you should remember to thoroughly research it later. Also, all statistics that are foot-noted should be verified.

Or maybe, an ad is just an ad?

That tactic of stressing his local roots didn't work very well for him here. It probably won't hurt her, but I don't know how much good it will do either. I thought the "Falling Through" one was the most convincing.

72. Definitely
It appealed to the feminist in me, the part that really wants to see a woman president. I am young and optimistic that I will see a woman president even if it does not happen this year, but I can understand why some older women are drawn to her candidacy because they want to see a woman president in their lifetime, and I respect that. My grandmother supports Obama but says that a lot of the women she talks to at their retirement community feel that way. This ad does a good job at tugging at women's heartstrings, and I would not be surprised if it brings some women who were thinking about voting for Obama back to her camp.

Just that it made me remember for a split second how proud I'd be to have a woman president. Besides, I already voted for Obama and would do so a thousand times over if I could. And I'm hardcore enough to spend just about every weekend driving up to Philadelphia to volunteer. I just don't believe attacking everything Clinton does is necessarily the best way to advocate for him.
