The ****OFFICIAL**** "I Will Vote For The Dem Nominee" Thread
REGARDLESS of which one it is-Clinton or Obama. Check in DUers and sign on...this is a democratic party unity thread. Say something good, say what your hopes and dreams are for the next democratic administration. This primary season will end soon enough and we need ALL democrats to put aside the petty bickering we have been going through here and other sites and come together AS true democrats. There is a LOT at stake.

SFJ = signed on no matter WHO our nominee is

I hope it's Obama, but I'd vote for Hillary to put a Dem in the WH.
McSame would be the second consecutive worst president ever. I don't think we could take four more years of Bush.

political parties. I say this to let you know that, because of who these Young Adults are to me personally, I have weighed and continue to weigh their position on this question and their issues against the extant candidates. Supporting a candidate is NEVER automatic for me.

.............................

I WILL vote for the Democratic Party's nominee.

39. legitimacy will be an issue
Clinton's made sure of that with the fauxrage over MI and FL

on the other hand, she WANTS to win by hook and crook which WILL alienate ALL of the new democrats and old progressives...

This is a sorry state of affairs...

regarding the question... I've been voting against Republicans since I was a 21 year old Buck Sergeant, and I ain't gonna tell you how long that's been.

I even campaigned for Bill Clinton twice, and I despise that grinning, crooked son of a bitch.

Let me say I will vote for the Dem nominee. Michelle Obama did say something after that perhaps you should have known.

"Everyone in this party is going to work hard for whoever the nominee is. I think we're all working for the same thing. Our goal is to make sure the person in the White House is going to take this country in a different direction. I happen to believe Barack is the only person who can really do that."

37. Yes*
Scenario 1:
Barack continues his winning streak, picks up a few more SuperD's, is ahead by more than a hundred or so delegates, and thus is the clear winner...
YES, I will vote for the nominee, Barack Obama.

Scenario 2:
Hillary pulls a MAJOR comeback, picks up a few more SuperD's, is ahead by more than a hundred or so delegates, and thus is the clear winner...
YES, I will vote for the nominee, Hillary Clinton

Scenario 3:
Hillary and Barack are within a handful of delegates. It goes to a brokered convention and a nominee is chosen in a fair manner
YES, I will vote for the nominee, whoever that is.

*EXCEPTION
Scenario 4: THE NIGHTMARE SCENARIO.
Democratic Party rules are bent or broken and/or "there is blood on the convention floor" and/or the nominee is chosen apart from the will of the people...
I DON'T KNOW who I will cast my vote for.
Frankly, if this scenario happens we have bigger problems. I do believe there will be riots. People are going to be ANGRY, me included. Even then I probably will vote for the nominee, but I can't promise. And at that point what would it matter? We're almost guaranteed to lose in November should that occur.

89. Oh, blow me. I could say that anyone who settles for whatever is candidate...
... is shoved on them is a traitor, too.

Man, when you start using Bush Jr mentality, you are lost.

Would they also be "benchmark haters" and "freedom haters"?

Here's a clue: a growing number of people believe that we have lost control of the elected Dems in Congress because we continue to vote for anything with a (D) in front of its name.

So Hillary Clinton can vote for every damned piece of neocon policy that comes through the Senate and still know she will be voted back into office.

You tell me--what incentive does she (or any other Dem politician) have to listening to the will of the people?

I won't vote for Hillary Clinton because, IMO, she will be as bad as Bush Jr. She has done his bidding for the last 7 years, voting far more often to endorse his agenda than she did to stand up for the American people. She acts like him, campaigns like him, lies like him, and spins like him. She doesn't want to release records, just like him. She has corrupt people advising her, just like him. It goes on and on.

So before you go calling others "traitor" you might want to look in the mirror because, where I sit, anyone who will roll over and vote for someone who has helped Bush Jr destroy our country is a traitor, too.

it very interesting, and remember as a little girl asking my parents stuff about politics lol. I followed politics closely in 2000 (when I was in 6th/7th grade) and 2004(10/11th grade). I remember in 6th grade taping the Republican primary coverage and the Republican debates and the GE debates lol. It's funny because my friends who never followed politics before I've helped make them more interested in it.:)

It's ironic how much difference a few years make. A few years ago I would defend Bill and Hillary Clinton against ANYTHNG and even joined some online group asking Hillary to run in 2004, haha.

She is just like Obama. Why is one viewed as a DINO and the other as a progressive messiah?

Yeah I have followed it since I was young too, although 2004 was the first election I closely followed.

Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 11:43 PM by loveangelc
did not have to worry about her competition, until right before Iowa. Then, imo, her tactics became very desperate. Digging up his kindergarten paper, the whole "roll the dice" thing, and things I just felt were dirty tactics. Yes, Obama has used things against her, but I just Hillary was taking it to an extreme in many ways.

I also felt her campaign was a loser campaign, even when she was inevitable, I knew her running as if she didn't have to worry about anyone else was going to come back to bite her in a democratic primary. I remember watching a debate where she would not answer a question, as if she did not have to because she had this locked up.

She could not win a general election. Her negatives are too high, and no matter what polls say now, they change so frequently that the state by state polls do not really matter right now, especially with no general campaign going on.

Her arrogance is really a put off to me, because she knows she cannot win this nomination, yet she is staying in. She knows that if she were to somehow win through convincing superdelegates to throw out what happened in the primaries/caucuses, she wouldn't win in the end. I feel a big reason they (bill and hillary) are in this is to preserve their legacy, but their legacy is now greatly tarnished imo.

It's too bad she didn't run in 04, because I think she could have won in 04, which Kerry could not.
