Some of you may remember my post yesterday about the comment made to my husband about the Obama sign in our car.

Today our yard sign was stolen.

I've only just BEGUN to fight! I'm already thinking about window paint for our front windows. They can't get those (unless they bust the windows, then it will be a legal matter).

Think I should report this to the cops?

God, I live in the most repuke area of my county, which population-wise, tends democratic. The Repuke chairman of our county lives up the street from me. He & I have always had a friendly sign dual every election season - maybe it's not so friendly (I've never actually met him), though I don't think he had anything to do with it.

21. nah, here's what i did last cycle;

my first kerry sign didn't last 24 hrs.... here's a handy remedy

1 anchor your sign to steel garden\fencing posts driven 2 ft into the ground
2 lightly coat the sign with vaseline, it makes a mess when pesky RWers try to fuck with it.

removing the posts from the ground after the electon sucked, but the sign lasted till then.

You may also wish to put some sort of fence around your property and put up some dummy surveillance cameras--or the real thing. Painting your windows is also a good idea-to mess with them would result in a criminal charge, and then you could sue them in civil court for damages.

I put another sign out immediately. This afternoon it was still there :). So I went out when we got home from work and smeared vaseline all over the edges - both sides, and sprinkled it with Hot Salt. If anyone steals or tries to steal this sign, they will suffer severe pain.

Hopefully, they will rub their eyes before they realize what's on their hands, and have open hang nails on every one of their fingers.

56. Razor blades inside the sign is your friend

I had that happen before. Go to a Walgreens, get yourself some shaving razor blades and put them near the corners where the asswipes grab the sign.

You'll hear them scream in the middle of the night that they cut their hand... they won't be back.

that fit over the frame. I'm afraid razor blades won't work, unless you have a way to insert them.
