What's Your Point
The Law of the Land, in the Land of Point, was that everyone and everything must have a point.
That is the Reason round headed Oblio, was banished to the Pointless Forest.
After his journey through the Pointless Forest, Oblio realized that everything there, had a point, so he must have a point too.
Once Oblio explained this to the King, everyone in the Kingdom agreed, then everyone's pointed heads melted and
they became round headed too.
The moral is You may not get the point, but that doesn't mean I don't have a point
Regards to Harry Nilsson

I saw that thing when it was first broadcast. God, I loved it. I used to have the album - before the great album purge of 97.

Sigh

7. You've got a point there!
"Ever been to Paris?"

"No."

"Ever been to New Delhi?"

"Uh, no."

"Well that's just it. You see what you want to see, and hear what you want to hear."

One of my all time favorite albums -- now I have it on CD

"And in the Land of Point, everyone must have a point, so I must have one too!"

And just then someone in the crowd shouted "He's got a point there!"

10. Yes, but a point in every direction
is the same as no point at all.

LOVED that story, love that album. Most of all, love the song "Think About Your Troubles." I sing it to myself when I'm feeling depressed. But if you sing it, you much sing it loudly and with great broad, almost slapstick emotion. If you do that, by the time you get to the end, you'll be giggling so hard that you can't remember your troubles.

For those who need a fix:

Sit beside the breakfast table
Think about your troubles
Pour yourself a cup of tea
Then think about the bubbles
You can take your teardrops
And drop 'em in a teacup
Take them down to the riverside
And throw them over the side
To be swept up by a current
Then taken to the ocean
To be eaten by some fishes
Who were eaten by some fishes
And swallowed by a whale
Who grew so old
He decomposed, doo, doo, doo
He died and left his body
To the bottom of the ocean
Now everybody knows
That when a body decomposes
The basic elements
Are given back to the ocean
And the sea does what it oughta
And soon there's salty water
Not too good for drinking
'Cause it tastes just like a teardrop
So they run it through a filter
And it comes out from a faucet
And it pours into a teapot
Which is just about to bubble
Now think about your troubles, now

I've even got the sheet music of it.

Great song to sing when you're trying to cheer yourself up, you just can't help smiling. :D

18. Yup
Works nearly every time. Don't have the sheet music though. Of course, my guitar is all warped now, anyway, and I haven't played it in years. Just can't throw it away, though. It kept me sane through many a long night.

21. One is the lonliest number that you'll ever do...
It's always fun to think that the same guy who wrote this song and "Remember" also wrote "You're breakin' my heart, you're tearin' it apart, so fuck you."

He's sadly forgotten now, but he was easily one of the greatest recording artists and songwriters of the sixties and seventies. Songs literally leap out of the shadows like "Spaceman" that remind one of just how human he was.

My kids love him.

What a voice. What a sense of humor. What a heartbreaker.

Sigh.
