Poll question: When will Kerry pick his VP?
Now that it's June, the moment Dems have been waiting for is on the horizon. How much longer do you think we'll have to wait?

1. I think he said it'd be mid-June
I could be mistaken though...

It would make sense. Name a VP in June, get the bounce from it. Convention in July, get that bounce too.

2. the campaign is saying early July
from what I read. That would be consistent with when the selection has been made in past years.

3. He'll announce at the Convention
Todays Presidential Conventions are mostly a infomercial for the party's platform issues and to give the candidate free exposure; however they have become so boring over the years, hardly anyone watches anymore. By letting everyone know he will announce his VP at the Convention, Kerry can give people a reason to watch.

5. I think early July
And I agree Kerry probably already has his mind made up who it is going to be. :-)

9. Do you have any hints
as to why you think the VP is already picked? I hope it's Clark too! Anything that might give us hope?

6. early July...wait until after the June 30 deadline in Iraq
I think he will wait until later to see how things are going in Iraq and perhaps to even take some of the news away from Bush at that time. But at this point...I'ld wait until July to name anyone...Clark and Edwards are already out there working for him. Why name anyone early?

10. Late June - before Big Dog's book comes out
He said he'd pick early. I like the timing: VP pick end of June, F 9/11 comes out around July 4, Clinton's book a little later, Dem convention at end of July. All nice poll bounces to give Kerry a lead to hang on to while Bush spends his excess cash bashing Kerry in August.

11. I can't wait!!
I just have a really good feeling about it...

And if I'm wrong, I want to know sooner rather than later. The suspense is killing me!

12. The latest reports
State the Kerry will not release the decision on who he will select until July 21st, at the earliest:

Forecast Suggests Kerry Could Make Running Mate Announcement July 21
Tuesday May 25, 10:25 am ET
Prediction Based on Historical Facts Culled From LexisNexis Database

DAYTON, Ohio, May 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- If history is an indication, Sen. John Kerry will announce his vice presidential running mate just before the Democratic National Convention in Boston, according to an analysis of information sources in LexisNexis® databases. LexisNexis is a leading provider of legal, news, and business information services.

Speculation is rampant among pundits about whom the Massachusetts senator will select as his running mate on the ticket against President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney in November. Names are being bandied about on Web sites, portals, in television broadcasts, in "survey" results and in print. Some say he'll announce the nominee by the end of May. Kerry says he'll decide "sometime before the convention."

If Kerry does announce before the convention, according to a comprehensive search of the more than 32,000 sources on LexisNexis, he is most likely to announce his running mate on July 21 - five days before the convention begins.

13. God I hope it's this week!
I want to get really revved up and excited about the TICKET. I'm already 100% behind Kerry, but I think it will add a lot of pizazz to get this team on the road, kicking * and Cheney's slimy arses!

14. Other
He'll pick his Veep before the convention, but won't actually announce it until the convention. Traditionally that's how it's done.
