Media reports woman yelling at Kerry; would they report this if it were *?
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/05/31/kerry.memorial/index.html

Monday, as he left the Vietnam memorial, a woman shouted at Kerry, asking him whether he was "paying tribute to all the people you spit on." Kerry did not respond.

So all you have to do is yell something despicable at John Kerry, while he's leaving a memorial to his fellow veterans, and you make the national media! If somebody yelled the same thing at Bush today, would anybody have quoted it? What about all the signs people have held at protests everywhere he goes, have we seen many of those reported? Judy Woodruff made a special point of repeating this on the news just now. Why do you suppose this is important for them to report?

1. Why did the woman LIE? Who told her that Kerry spit on veterans?
Did Rush? Hannity? Rove?

Who lied and told this poor victim of demagoguery, a poor ignorant woman that Kerry spit on veterans?

8. I'm sure the "spit on" was rhetorical, in this case.
In Freeperspeak, the fact that Kerry protested a stupid, unjust, illegal war that had not one fucking thing to do with the United States, equals "spitting on veterans". Even though he himself was one and actually had a valid point of reference as to what was actually taking place in Vietnam. Unlike the current Freeps and their forebearers in stupidity from 30 years ago.

2. Republican operative
Republican yells at Kerry. Republican in the media reports it. Republicans in the media report on the report.

They do it over and over again.

4. Kerry has more of a right to be there
than that woman probably does. I bet she has no real war veterans in her family. I guarantee that if my father were still alive (2 1/2 years on Guatal Canal as Captain of an army trucking company) he would be glad that Kerry was there and hate the fact that Bush was there.

5. I seem to recall..
hundreds of thousands of people yelling at Bush in the run-up to the war. The media was MIA then.

6. A sad, sad woman...
Sad... as in pathetically ignorant, which doesn't deserve a response. I assume its Kerry's past anti-war efforts that she equates with hocking a loogie at a soldier. Typical wingnut attitude.

Sad...

7. They don't report us yelling because
we can't be heard from the "free speech zone".
Out of sight, out of mind.

9. I know at least five Viet Nam vets who have told me some horrible tales
and all of them have said that Viet Nam was a huge mistake. One was an agent orange victim and spent years involved in the class action suit against the US govt. He eventully went crazy and was admitted to a mental institution just before the settlement. I don't know where he is now. All the others that I know, even the ones other than the five who shared their stories with me, are mostly basket cases with dysfunctional family ties and some families permanently destroyed. Even after this long, they have not adjusted.

12. yeah, they would have been alive if Kerry had not protested
all was going well until kerry decided to protest the war , huh ? it wasn't those in power in the white house and pentagon at fault, it was kerry. what a bunch of asses these right wingers are.

these fools who blame protestors for war's failure should be concerned about our military's effectiveness if they think protests can weaken the military and cause them to lose.

and at least kerry doesn't close off any place he attends from those who disagree with him as the chimp does.

13. She was obviously a Bushite
who was put up to it by Republican operatives. They will stoop at nothing to diminish a REAL war hero and to create a false image of the only Presidential candidate who actually went to war.
