Scuffle at the Wilshire


My colleague Jeffrey Ressner was at Hillary's fundraiser last night at the Wilshire Theater in Los Angeles, and captured the audio (.wma)
of a really jarring scene: A woman dragged out in handcuffs, screaming that she was the only black supporter of Hillary there. (She wasn't.)

Secret Service, Ressner emails, declined to comment.

Clinton herself had some fairly strong stuff to say, particularly on Florida and Michigan: "If we don't figure out Michigan and Florida, our candidate will lack the legitimacy that we want," she told the crowd.

Also, a burqa joke:

"I was among the very first to speak out against the Taliban. . .I was invited by the Taliban to visit " she said. "Some days I may think I want to wear a burqua, but I don't want to do that. . . "

At the end of the event, the music played to usher people out, but Hillary stopped the music and implored the crowd to donate. "I need your help. I'm being outspent," she said.

Strange.

I was at a delegate gathering last night. Of course, the Obama people outnumbered the Hillary ones (this was in Seattle) but it was very odd. The Obama people would not disucss issues at all, not at all. But even more telling, the joke bowling press conference came up. I thought it was hilarious (I laughed all through it), but the Obama people just flat out didn't see it. "I didn't think it was funny at all," one person said. Another told me, "I just didn't see it".

My boyfriend keeps trying to tell me people just have their minds made up; I'm not going to change anyone's mind. I guess it's true, but to not even get an April Fool's joke?

All the Sniper jokes and videos and the "I'm F--King Obama" video. The latter of which is an ABSOLUTE riot and took quite a bit of brilliance to create.

Have you seen Sarah Silverman's video to her boyfriend, Jimmy Kimmel entitled: "I'm fucking Matt Damon"? And then Jimmy's reply video to her entitled: "I'm fucking Ben Affleck"? They both are funny and the latter is filled with big celebrities, Ben Affleck, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Harrison Ford, etc. etc.

UPDATE: A Clinton volunteer at the Wilshire writes that he witnessed what happened before the woman was arrested:

"Not only did she attack another person at the event (she literally bit a woman, which drew blood and required bandages), she was screaming profanities and tried to urinate in the doorway to the theater! She was both verbally and physically confrontational to volunteers (I was one of them) and to the Secret Service, as well!"

The money owed to them is on her FEC IOU website. Except HRC wants the $$ to put towards her millionaire consultant cronies, not the small business owners who she has stiffed.
