Sen. Barack Obama said it best..
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 07:53 AM by cooolandrew
I think Barack said it best in his now famous speech. I disagree with some of the things Randi Rhodes said but I could no more disown her than I could my own mother. A woman who has taught me, fed me knowledge and cared for me and her country and people around the world. As far as I am concerend she will always be up there in the top 2 American heroes of the 21st century with Cindy Sheehan.

WE LOVE YOU RANDI

Knowledge is power

3. One of the top 2 American heroes of the 21st century?
I sure hope we can come up with a better hero than a rude talk show host.

10. Randi has led the country far more than anyone on The Hill anyone denying that, must not know her
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 10:52 AM by cooolandrew
well. Rude is debateable but driven is more a real classification. Without Randi America would be walking faster down the wrong path than it has till now. Most genuine heroes are not recognised till years later.

Randi Rhodes is a talk show host with a relatively small audience. Sometimes she's interesting and entertaining, but she's often rude to her guests and shouts over them, and sometimes she's very poorly informed -- I mean flat-out wrong on facts. She is by no means the best at her profession, and is certainly not someone I'd call influential. Whether she deserves her reprimand/suspension isn't up to me; it's up to her employers. I don't care because I seldom listen to her any more -- not because of her opinions but because of her obnoxious style, which I don't care for at all.

As to journalists/writers/talk show people who have had more influence "in the cause of more peace and prosperity," how about these, just off the top of my head:

Keith Olbermann
Amy Goodman
Rachel Maddow
Thom Hartmann
Mike Papantonio
Mike Malloy
John F. Kennedy, Jr.
Eric Alterman
David Brock
Garrison Keillor
Bill Moyers
Helen Thomas
Arianna Huffington

Can you really claim with a straight face that Randi Rhodes is a bigger liberal hero than Helen Thomas?

6. HOW MANY people must be fired/suspended "only because" HRC or her surrogates *feign outrage.*
This is ridiculous. Imus attacked innocent college students not politicos like Ferraro. Just looking at her feigning hurt and outrage makes me want to "toss cookies."

CAN YOU IMAGINE how often HRC and her minions will "feign outrage" if they somehow made it into OUR Executive Branch? :(

7. You learned something from Randi? What, like a new childish insult?
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 08:13 AM by olkaz
"taught me, fed me knowledge and cared for me and her country and people around the world"

Randi is borderline retarded. She is, without a doubt, the least informed personality on Air America. She resorts to namecalling almost any time anybody disagrees with her, she uses kneejerk bizarre reasoning for the most obvious things, and above all, she's not entertaining. If she is actually teaching you something, I beg you to listen to Thom Hartmann, Rachel Maddow, or Lionel. It'll be like you skipped 6-12th grades.

With all that said, Randi shouldn't be pulled from anything for those remarks. I'll be very upset with AA if they do anything more than this suspension. As a paying premium member, I hope they're listening.

13. In country that has bentorn apart by over 7 years of Rpublicans, strong language seems apt to me.
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 11:01 AM by cooolandrew
Making our politicians sheltered from criticism is what gave us four more years remember. Our public officaials have always been open to scrutiny as part of the deal of taking that position. It's not how most democracies operate, should it be the case in the country that sprouted the modern rebirth of it.
