Obama leads among senate supers - List Included - Call your senator now for their support
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 01:05 PM by powergirl
If any of these senators represent your state, please call them to thank them, if they supported Obama. And if uncommitted, ask for them to support Obama. I live in Texas, so I do not have the good fortune of having a Democratic senator.

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
With the endorsement by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) for Obama, we decided to take a look at who each Democratic senator is backing. Obama, it turns out, leads Clinton, 14-12. Twenty senators are uncommitted. A couple of notes... excluded from the list is the Florida-Michigan contingent of senators: Debbie Stabenow, of Michigan, who is backing Clinton; Carl Levin, of Michigan, who is uncommitted; and Bill Nelson, of Florida, who has endorsed Clinton. Also excluded are senators, who caucus with Democrats, but do not have a vote at convention: Bernie Sanders (I-VT-Uncommitted) and Joe Lieberman (I/D-CT-McCain). Lieberman was stripped of his superdelegate status when he endorsed McCain.

Here's the full list of the Senate superdelegate endorsements:
OBAMA (14)
Robert P. Casey, Jr.
Kent Conrad
Christopher J. Dodd
Byron L. Dorgan
Richard J. Durbin
Tim Johnson
Edward M. Kennedy
John Kerry
Amy Klobuchar
Patrick J. Leahy
Claire McCaskill
Ben Nelson
Barack Obama
John D. Rockefeller

CLINTON (12)
Evan Bayh
Maria Cantwell
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Dianne Feinstein
Daniel Inouye
Blanche Lambert Lincoln
Robert Menendez
Barbara Mikulski
Patty Murray
Mark Pryor
Charles E. Schumer
Sheldon Whitehouse

Uncommitted (20)
Daniel Akaka
Max Baucus
Joseph R. Biden Jr.
Jeff Bingaman
Barbara Boxer
Sherrod Brown
Robert C. Byrd
Benjamin L. Cardin
Thomas Carper
Russell D. Feingold
Tom Harkin
Herb Kohl
Mary Landrieu
Frank R. Lautenberg
Jack Reed
Harry Reid
Ken Salazar
Jon Tester
Jim Webb
Ron Wyden

1. Yes, please call your Senators...
I called Sen. Casey last week and look what happened!! lol

(Actually, I'm pretty sure his choice had a lot to do with his kids supporting Obama.)

3. I believe Boxer has claimed she will vote for Clinton because she ...
.....said she will vote for the candidate who won California.

(Which being an Obama voter from California I disagree with...)

Though I admit, she has never come out and endorsed Clinton by name.

7. We ( The CA delegation) are working on her
Edited on Mon Mar-31-08 01:17 PM by Capn Sunshine
She is among the Supers who say that at the end, if Obama has a sizable lead in delegates, she will ask Hillary to quit.

8. Good to know
Her wording seemed to indicate a lack of real support for Clinton, I hope she does switch!

... I'll call him anyway to tell him just how right he is!!

9. Both my senators are on the HRC list, but I don't think they're solid (Cantwell & Murray).
Patty Murray's endorsement statement was quite lukewarm, and my thought is that Clinton called in the chips to get her to endorse. Ditto with Cantwell, who recently made a statement to indicate she is wavering. I firmly believe there is a good chance both those SDs could fall for Obama before the convention.

10. Good to know.
I'm up in B'ham and was a little dismayed to see both on the list. Especially as Obama did quite well in this state as I recall. Guess I'll go ahead and write a short letter. If they're wavering perhaps a few letters would actually do something.

11. I think Boxer pledged to Clinton.
I remember she said she'd vote for whoever won California.
