Would you support a Kerry/Lincoln Chafee ticket?
I'm not proposing the only other bipartisan ticket that will be discussed on DU. What if Kerry pick Sen. Lincoln Chafee from RI as Veep? He voted against the IWR and all of the * tax cuts. His voting record might not be perfect, but he's still to the left of Kerry of certain issues (like IWR vote) and it would really piss off the Repugs, since Chafee would effectively be leading "republicans for Kerry".

1. NO.... REPUBLICANS...ON...OUR...TICKET!
We'd lose far more votes than we'd gain.

2. Nah..Chafee's too liberal for the DLC.
Maybe Kerry should talk to Newt Gingrich. Get those southern votes that the "moderates" love.

3. Or maybe Bush should ask Kucinich to be his VP
It makes about as much sense as a Kerry/Republican ticket.

4. why?
RI is in the bag. While Chafee may be a liberal Republican I would like to see him switch parties before we talk about him being VP>

8. I don't see any advantage in that. However, I'd like to see Chafee become
a Democrat. He's wayyyyyy to the left of his party.

9. Nope
If he's such a "moderate," then he should have left the party like Jeffords. He's had four years. While I definitely admire Republicans who can buck the radical trend, that just means I wish there were more Republicans like them NOT that I want them running on Democratic tickets. When they start disavowing the radicals or leaving the party then we can talk.
