1. Personal preferences aside -
I'd want whoever could deliver the votes and appeal to Reps who are disenchanted with their party. So I didn't vote, because I'm not sure if any of the ones you mention is that person.

16. That would probably be Jim Webb.
Webb on the ticket might turn Virginia blue in November; he's a highly decorated former Marine and former Navy Secretary (under Reagan); he was opposed to the Iraq war from the beginning (from the position of a foreign policy hawk, which is something that would lend his position more credibility with some people).

Personally, I see Webb as probably a stronger VP pick than any of the above.

6. None of those is a smart choice. It should be someone with military experience
and who appeals to the South.

I would say Jim Webb since he is a convert from Reaganism.

John Edwards would be second best.
