REPUBLICANS will Keep the White House
Edited on Thu Mar-27-08 02:48 PM by rockthevote2006
My fellow Democrats,
We have endured 8 years of a horrible Administration.
The economy is in a recession. The war is costly and very unpopular.
Gas prices are at record highs, while America's reputation in the world
is at record lows. The Republicans have messed things up big time.

And yet, the next President will probably be a Republican.
And he will also nominate solid conservatives to the Supreme Court,
making the court a solid right wing base.

Why do I say this?
Although the Democrats have raised record amounts of money, and voters
are energized and angry at the Republicans, there are 4 solid reasons
why John McCain will probably win.

1. Recent polls show that about 19% of Obama supporters will vote for McCain
if Hillary is nominated. Polls also show that 28% of Hillary supporters will
vote for McCain if Obama is nominated. And then there are those who will just
not vote at all, if their Democratic favorite is not nominated.
In fact, I have spoken to quite a few Hillary supporters who told me that if
Obama is nominated, they will just stay home and not vote.

2. Florida and Michigan. Regardless of who is right or wrong, the truth is
that the chances of a Democratic victory in these 2 important states goes down
significantly due to the whole unseated delegate fiasco. There will be some
angry Florida and Michigan Democrats, enough to hurt the party's chances in those
key states.

3. Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, etc. will work
day and night to scare people away from the Democrats. And yes, a lot of people
do fall for their scare tactics

4. Some people, including some Democrats, will simply not vote for a woman or a black
man. It's unfortunate, but it's still out there. America has always voted for white men,
and nobody knows if America will be any different this time.

So basically, I think the Republicans have a really good chance of keeping the White House,
mostly because the Democrats are split between 2 candidates while John McCain is out there
raising money and uniting his party. There will be quite a few Democrats who would rather
vote for McCain than the other Democratic nominee. The Florida and Michigan mess doesn't help.

8 years of Bush, a war, a recession, but the Republicans will keep the White House.

Edit: I wanted to add that I am a solid Democrat and I loathe the Republicans.
I really want a Democrat to win this time. I really do.
This post is more of a warning about the tough battle head, not a defeatist message.
By all means, I'm hoping a Dem wins. I'm just saying we cannot forget the problems
we face, most notably the feud between the Hillary and Obama supporters. We should be
attacking McCain, not other Democrats. This extended primary is getting too negative
and the resources are being used against each other, instead of against McCain.

I don't think you're being realistic.

Any links on your 19 & 28% numbers?

You sound like you're already throwing in the towel. There's a lot of momentum to taking back this country, from the grassroots to Washington.

Or else you're STIRRING SHIT!!

4. My "crystal ball "says that won't happen
unless of course there are shenanigans. My "crystal ball" tells me that the mean people like Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham, & Rush Limbaugh can spin their wheels until they're blue in the face. Americans are not as ignorant as the media would have us believe. Anyway for what it's worth I think we'll have a democrat in the White House this time.

29. Yes, Americans (not all) are more savvy now and can see through the deception
of TV ads. After reading "The Age of American Unreason" by Susan Jacoby, however, I still believe that 'murcans can still be bamboozled with God, Guns, Gays and Flags, the main theme of republicans. If our candidate is even a little bit effective in cutting through that bulls--t, then we can win it.

15. that whole clinton supporters and obama supporters....
won't vote democratic in the GE..is all Bull Sh*t....Its the press trying to get the US population ready for another steal(the only way a repub is gonna win this time around - same as last time)...I really feel that is why they are pushing that...but the record turnouts are gonna put a crimp in their plan...continually pressing that BS line makes it easier for them to explain the discrepancies between the exit polls and the actual vote count...if they do try to steal it away again...which I think they will try.

that is if there is even an election come Nov....people in power don't like to give it up...and people who think they are above the law are even worse...watch out America.. Watch Out..

Yes tinfoil here.

For those of you who think a Republican victory is unlikely, you are
very mistaken. This feud between Hillary supporters and Obama supporters
is hurting the party pretty bad and it's not pretty.

Why is McCain not trailing in the polls by 20%? Instead, he is holding his
own very well. And don't forget the Florida and Michigan Democrats who are
angry and might not vote for the Democrats.

20. RE:
Oh and by the way I am NOT a troll.
I cannot stand the Republicans. I'm a solid Obama supporter,
but would gladly vote for Hillary if my only other choice is McCain.

So rest assured, I really want the Dems to win.
That is why I posted this thread, because a lot of us
don't realize just how bad this feud is hurting our party,
and that McCain is actually doing very well in polls, and
could very well win.

She barely beats McCain in my state of CT. Latest Q-poll has her up 3 over McCain but Obama creams McCain in CT -- 52-35 http://www.myleftnutmeg.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=9394.
