A Question For Arkansas DUers
Would having Clark on the ticket as VP insure that Kerry wins Arkansas?

1. I don't think so.

Clark wasn't really well known until he retired in, when?, 1999.

He's not thought of as a native son by the uninvolved.

But, it certainly wouldn't cost Kerry any Arkie votes.

BTW, I just read the DMN article about the education session falling apart. Are you guys gonn'a have school this fall? It just goes to show that Repukes can't govern.

3. the education fiasco
in Arkansas will bring out a lot of people to the polls. I've heard from an awfully lot of mad people who are voting against the GOP this year.

4. Yeah, Huckabuck is glad he doesn't have to run this year.
The rural folk are mighty mad.

I don't know whether that will translate into Dem votes though. The rural vote is convinced that 'big gubmint' is out to get them. And I'm afraid Kerry would be thought of as someone who would have supported consolidation, if he had to choose.

5. Well, I live in Newton and work in Boone County
and I've been pleasantly shocked at the number of Republicans who are either voting third party or voting Dem this year. I've had people just stop me on the street and start telling me how much they hate Bush-and I don't wear political buttons (though I do have Jan Judy for Congress signs on my car).

6. The Legislature
Actually, Gov Perry called a 'special session" to revamp the current method of school finance. So, if the Legislature does nothing at all, the current system will still be in existance. Also, it is likely that Perry will call a second "special session." So for all the Texas kids out there, there will be school.;(
