Need help responding
I received an email (see link), that I don't know who to respond to. My aunt sent this to me and some of my other relatives, most of them live in Missouri (a big swing state). I would like to rebuke this one but I don't know where to start. I was wondering if you could help or have a column I could send back.

I loaded a complete copy of the mail message on my website.

1. It's very simple.
The UN inspectors searched everywhere and found no evidence of Saddam's purported arsenal of illegal weapons.

The inspections and containment policy worked... and Clinton NEVER proposed invading!

and I think it is reasonable to assume that Saddam had WMD's before the inspectors went in. However, had the administration allowed the inspections like they said they would we would have found out the truth. Instead, it took a war and almost 800 dead to find out that the sanctions worked.

Edit: the reason we assumed that we had them was beacause WE gave them to him!

3. what's to say?
Unfortunately, it's true. Perhaps you can send a list of quotations from the people who didn't get sucked into the Big Lie. People like Dennis Kucinich or Noam Chomsky or Howard Zinn. Now, she might be a bit taken aback by how far to the left the people who actually knew the truth are, but that will be good for her.
