4. what else do you call it when a man blames white people for everything that is wrong with the world
and then damns America repeatedly in front of cameras and a congregation? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that this Obama associates with an American hating bigoty and is now trying to draw fire away from that fact by attacking hillary's foreign policy experience.

23. "draw fire away from that fact"? irony. is that sniper fire?

you clearly do not have the bandwidth to understand the context of Rev. Wright's words.

Only someone who loves this country and is willing to work to improve it would give sermons as the Rev has.

who else do you think 'hates Amerika'? liberals? commie pinkos? non-whites? the ACLU?

(hey everyone! is this guy on 'THE LIST" shhh! LOL!!!)

and barack Obama sat there for twenty years with his family at his side agreeing with him.

33. Clinton's former church's pastor disagrees.
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 07:41 AM by jakem
Last week, Dean Snyder, the senior minister at the Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington D.C. -- which the Clintons famously attended while in the White House -- released a little noticed statement offering a sympathetic defense of the totality of Wright's work.

"The Reverend Jeremiah Wright is an outstanding church leader whom I have heard speak a number of times," Snyder wrote. "He has served for decades as a profound voice for justice and inclusion in our society. To evaluate his dynamic ministry on the basis of two or three sound bites does a grave injustice to Dr. Wright, the members of his congregation, and the African-American church which has been the spiritual refuge of a people that has suffered from discrimination, disadvantage, and violence. Dr. Wright, a member of an integrated denomination, has been an agent of racial reconciliation while proclaiming perceptions and truths uncomfortable for some white people to hear. Those of us who are white Americans would do well to listen carefully to Dr. Wright rather than to use a few of his quotes to polarize."

Snyder, it should be noted, was not the pastor at Foundry during the Clinton years. That was the previous minister, J. Philip Wogaman. Moreover, there seems to be confusion as to exactly what church Clinton now attends. Her campaign did not return requests for comment."

24. Maybe Wright is telling the truth. This has been a country run
by white people and on top of that until Kennedy WASP white. And white men by the way. Ever read Blowback? Even the CIA thinks their is some thing in that. When you back a lot of people, we in the USA have backed, you have to think some people would not think us the good guys we are saying we are. I wish we would not do some of these things and it does not mean I hate the country. I just have to bring up one thing to get this over to you. Why did we go to war to re-put an autocrat back in power? You can fit in what country we did that in their are so many.

I voted for Bill Clinton twice, and I thought the impeachment attempt was a travesty of justice.
So what's your point?

BTW--The OP's tactics fit in beautifully with the tactics the right wing used for impeachment.

14. Decorated Marine, honored by presidents?
You are not referring to Rev Wright obviously.

Must be Pat Robertson:

"We have allowed rampant secularism and occult, et cetera, to be broadcast on television. We have permitted somewhere in the neighborhood of 35 to 40 million unborn babies to be slaughtered in our society. We have a Court that has essentially stuck its finger in God's eye and said, 'We're going to legislate you out of the schools, we're going to take your Commandments from off the courthouse steps in various states, we're not going to let little children read the Commandments of God, we're not going to let the Bible be read -- no prayer in our schools.' We have insulted God at the highest levels of our government. And, then we say 'why does this happen?' Well, why its happening is that God Almighty is lifting His protection from us." (in response to the 9/11 attacks)
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Pat_Robertson

Pat Robertson also thinks that his supernatural deity damned america to be attacked on 9-11.

20. If Rev. Wright did not love this country he wouldn't have honorably served in the US Marine Corps.
Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 07:23 AM by ShortnFiery
I'm a former Army Officer who loves her country but I will admit to feeling "God Damn America" during our invasion of Iraq - especially during "Shock and Awe" and the Phosphorus bombs on Falluja (burns you skin and flesh clean off and is NOT authorized to be used on personnel - of any type due to the cruelty). However, as a person who would not vote to ban Cluster Munitions, I can't say that I'm surprised at HRC feigning self-righteous anger under the ruse of *patriotism.*

I don't doubt either Rev Wright's nor Obama's patriotism but I do question HRC's aggrandizing self-righteousness and her lack of HUMANITY where is comes to voting against the banning of Cluster munitions.

Unforgiving self-righteous anger and demonstrations of false patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. = HRC's simplistic assessment of Rev. Wright (and the entire 8400 member church) based on M$M spin. Someone who truly loves the USA - wishes for it to be *The Leader* in the world community ... and that leadership MUST extend to both humanitarian as well as military strength if we are truly a Christian (Christ-like) nation like the RW insists that we are.

Edited on Wed Mar-26-08 08:20 AM by aquarius dawning
Embellishing war tales is pretty common actually and far less repugnant to most Americans than stories of a politician who sat in a church that damns America and preaches hatred against white people. I'll ask you the same question I asked another poster a while back, what was Barack obama doing in 1996 while Hillary was visiting with and supporting US soldiers in Bosnia? Was he smoking dope on the streets of Chicago? Was he sitting in church with his family listening to an america hating bigot blame all of black America's problems on white people? Maybe he was giving a speech about how he opposed America's involvment in halting genocide against Muslims in Yugoslavia? You tell me, what was he doing in 1996 that was so fucking great that he feels he can drag Hillary Clinton's Foreign policy experience and reputation through the mud?

and wore the uniform of the USA- what the hell have you done foryour country? Ever heard of free speech? I'd say he earned the right to speak, whether or not you or I agree with him. As far as the content of his sermons, it looks like you are depending on the MSM to feed you a "fair and balanced" presentation. A minute's worth of audio clips should not define a man's entire 30-year career... and YOU KNOW IT. You are exploiting this issue and defaming a man in the manner of FUX news. Good for you!
