Earl K. Long for Vice President!
"Don't write anything you can phone. Don't phone anything you can talk. Don't talk anything you can whisper. Don't whisper anything you can smile. Don't smile anything you can nod. Don't nod anything you can wink"
Wisdom such as this is sorely required in DC!

KERRY-LONG IN 2004!

2. Long's dead
:-(

Do you mean Senator Russel Long?

Great guy veered to the populist like his dear old dad the late great Huey P Long or "The Kingfish" Governor then Senator for LA... before he was gunned down not long before the 1936 presidential election in which he might well have challenged FDR from the populist left... Huey was a radical and could be heavy handed and was not above a little corruption but he really did care about the folks in his state and throughout the United States, He took on the Big Oil and Rail companies who effectively ran LA and beat'em then he built roads, furnished schools with new equipment for the first time in decades, built bridges that finally spanned the Mississippi and massively reformed and modernized the State of Louisiana...

Rest in Peace "Kingfish"... in the words of that song "Oh Huey, all your friends, they say, they will miss you..."
