Poll question: Who's gonna win the election?
Edited on Wed May-12-04 03:50 PM by Mass_Liberal
your honest opinion. Who you think WILL win the election. Not who you WANT to win the election.

5. sorry, but I don't believe that BushCo will ALLOW Kerry to win . . .
under any circumstances . . . and controlling everything (media, voting machines, foreign and domestic policy, the Congress, the courts, etc.), they'll find a way to stay in power . . . the evil of this administration, imo, knows no bounds . . .

8. Unfortunately...I believe the same thing.
They cannot allow somebody else to gain control of the WH. But then
again, Kerry is another S&B and he might garner some sort of
"agreement" behind closed doors....like, no investigations,
continuing the Iraqi occupation, further invasions of "evildoers",
etc. etc.

Federal Voting Commission to Give Out $2.3BILLION with NO VOTING STANDARDS!

The Associated Press
Wednesday, May 12, 2004; 3:57 PM

WASHINGTON - Members of a new federal voting commission appealed to Congress Wednesday to double their budget, arguing that the extra cash would allow them to help states run more efficient elections.

"We've promulgated no rules. We've worked hard to get stationery, office space, business cards. We've had one public hearing," DeForest B. Soaries, chairman of the Election Assistance Commission, told a House Appropriations subcommittee.

President Bush's budget proposal gives the fledgling commission $10 million for operations in fiscal 2005. Soaries asked lawmakers for an additional $10 million for research and data collection so the commission could provide states with guidelines on voting systems in time for the 2006 elections.

"Those standards cannot be established without proper research," said Soaries, who noted that the extra money could come from $40 million in Bush's fiscal 2005 budget request for states to spend on election reforms.

Still, the commission has achieved one of its goals. It is prepared to distribute $2.3 billion to states to buy new voting-booth equipment and make other improvements. The money should go out beginning this week, Soaries said. Commissioners had to wait 45 days after publishing state spending plans in the federal register, which happened in late March.

<>"We're going to distribute $2.3 billion to them now and we haven't done a bit of the research, none of the research, that would have helped them make the best possible decision?" Olver said.

7. Too soon to tell
With the very serious possibility that the Fraudministration has now crossed every possible line of decency, in terms of what they'll do to reverse "bad press", God himself only knows what else they're capable of.

Even in terms of a legitimate election, results depend on a few things Kerry does in the reasonably near future. If he picks the wrong running mate, he's toast. If he refuses to expose the neocon foreign policy - from Iraq to Israel as being criminally fascist, he offers little to differentiate himself from Bush. Yeah yeah, I know Supreme Court, environment, and all that. But you won't hear shit about that in this campaign. It's gonna be all "Terra terra terra".

9. I still have a little faith in the American people to make the right choic
So i voted Kerry.

I also happen to know, my dad who is a life long republican - who "cried" when Carter beat Ford is "having my doubts about bush"
you could have knocked me over with a feather when he said it.

He is old school Republican, not neo-con. He thinks * is a little too radical. The funny comment was that he would have problems voting for Kerry for economic reasons. I laughed and asked him if he likes the economic policies of * which have turned a surplus into a devastating deficit that his grandkids will be paying for - he kind of chuckled and said he'd have to think more about it.

The fact that he is having his doubts leads me to have some faith left in the people in America.

11. I vote Kerry
not so much due to the campaign he is running but by the explosion of the Bush Administration. I think almost any qualified Democrat could beat Bush in the current atmosphere.

15. JFK2 in a slugfest
Bush won't be able to get away with the shit he pulled last time. ALL EYES will be on Florida (and Ohio). It's gonna be dirty, but Kerry will pull it out.

Should Shrubco try this bull again, Kerry won't lie down and die like Al. He'll fight, regardless of the press and others.

16. Barring
mysterious WMDs all of a sudden being found, Osama being delivered by Gen. Musharraf at a convenient time, or Diebold taking over every swing state, Kerry will win.

The way I see it -- we're more motivated to remove Bush out of office than the right is in keeping him in. Many believed voted for Bush believing he was a moderate. They are quite dissapointed and must be feeling decieved to some extent. Nader's support will eventually dwindle, as many of his former supporters realize that another four years of Bush will be more than this country and the world can bear. His numbers are extremely soft.

17. Sounds good
I hope and pray that Kerry wins. However- I still believe that come mid-late October, Osama will be "miraculously captured!" by the Bush crew in order to swing the election back in Bush's favor.
