O.K., Here It Goes:
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 10:27 PM by Dinger
I am on the "list", not the top 10, the other one. That's o.k. People should be able to say what they want, after all, this is America. I am a pretty normal, everyday person, "typical," if you will. I live in a small log home in northern Wisconsin. I am married, have one son, and a future daughter-in-law who I love. I know many here can't stand me, but believe it or not, the feeling is not mutual. I have not made it a secret who I support, and I make no apologies. In fact, I am proud to be a supporter of Hillary Clinton. I have always been a supporter of Wesley Clark, and I hope he gets a chance to further serve this country in a way that is fitting for someone of his stature and experience. However, his endorsement of Hillary Clinton did not make me run to support her. This process took months. I didn't "agonize" over this choice, and it came down to experience for me. I feel strongly that a Democrat will be inaugurated in January 2009, even now. It is my hope that it is Hillary is the one.
I sincerely hope healing comes to DU soon, but I am a peon here, so there's not much I can do.
Maybe someone else has what it takes. To those whose "lists" I am on, please know I regret it if have offended anyone. I can be a hot head, as you well know, and occasionally post & click a little too quickly. I do try though. For example, I used to refer to Obama supporters as "followers," and I did it deliberately. There was an Obama supporter (whose "list" I'm probably on) who posted a response that made me feel bad and sad. It was not rude or anything "like that," but more thought provoking. Also, I think it was Forkboy who made a classy post where he apologized to another DUer (I forgot who it was, sorry). I actually got a little "misty" over that. Why? I don't know, maybe it was just such a relief to see a post like that here. Anyway, I am planning to take a break. Maybe it'll be good for me. I'm sure it'll be nice for some of you. I'll do some work for HIllary, help out with wedding plans (for my son & fiancee), etc. I won't respond to this post, not as a protest, but as a show of support of free speech and thought. If it sinks, it sinks. Besides that, I'm a bit of a wimp.

Here are some pics I think you ALL might like, just to go on a positive note:)

From a house party I had in Oct. 2006 (Assembly candidate, state senator, sheriff candidate, & COng. Steve

From the 2004 campaign:

You remember this one?

This one's "famous" on the Wisconsin Forum (After Doyle won re-election & Kagen took Green's spot against
john gard), directly from the Dinger Family fireplace:

This one is a fave of mine. When Flags of Our Fathers opened here, I printed a bunch of these and left them
in the theater, about 1 mile from where John Bradley is buried.

My hero:

Edited to add this (My "War Room"):

1. though I do use the "ignore" option...
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 09:59 PM by CitizenLeft
...and I am an Obama supporter, you're not on my list. You may say things I don't agree with, but they're not laced with blind animosity, racism, or hypocritical distortions. That's my criteria, and I'll use ignore rather than get into a nasty argument that runs up my blood pressure and gets people upset. That's why I use it, not because I'm a "coward" but for my health, LOL!

So please support Hillary all you want, that support was never what made me put anyone on ignore.

:hi:

And I love that Edwards photo!

6. Hi Dinger...
love the pic, are you in it?

You're not on my ignore list. Thank you for your post. The point is behind all these heated keyboards at times is a person with feelings. We are all Americans first, and truly want the best for our country. I think deep down we can all agree, that we certainly cannot afford another 4 years of Republican rule. This country can't take it, our soldiers can't take it, our economy can't take it, our kids future can't take it. NO MORE!

It's time for change. If Hillary should win the nomination, I will fully support her in the General.

10. Not on mine.
You had good points, and I as an Obama supporter do have a few on ignore. I just put ones on that were beyond the pale.
By the way, I have a few Obama supporters on my list also. Let's support our candidates, with facts, with passion, but not with bile or hate.

We are fighting the same enemy.

Peace

7. Dinger, I remember that party you gave and the great pix you
shared with us. Thanks for all the other ones. I'm an Obama fan, too, and don't always agree with you, but I sure am not ignoring you. I know you are a patriot, and can support who you want. That's what I'm doing. :hi:

8. We all need to remember that we're ALL human.
I think what happened today just demonstrates how exhausted and frayed we all are. Thanks for posting this. I'm an Obama supporter who truly wishes you well and hope to join you in celebration when a DEM wins the WH in November.

Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 10:09 PM by Levgreee
out of the other 5, I only ignore threads for 3 of them, ignore everything for the other 2. Most of the supporters, Hillary or Obama, are halfway decent.

12. From an Obama supporter
whose "list" you are not on (I don't currently have anyone on ignore), two things.

1. Take a break from DU if you need, I know I have (and I haven't been here long), but please come back. We always need good Democrats!!! I am told by veteran, level headed DU'ers, that "this too shall pass" LOL. Please come back and unite with us for Nov!!

2. Support your candidate with all your heart; it is all we can really do. NEVER back away from your beliefs from anyone, or any reason/political race. If Hillary is your candidate, then be proud of that, and if anyone doesn't like it....screw them. A

s long as you do all of that in a classy, upstanding manner, you are cool in my book (for all that is really worth B-) )

Ignore all this "list" crap. It's been a long season, so there are lots of tired people here. And frankly, since it's so long till PA, there's not a whole heck of lot to talk (yell) about.

20. That's a wonderful post
The pics are great, too. I love the one with John Edwards. He was the one I was originally for. I now support Hillary.I'll bet that house of yours is beautiful, just from looking at the pics. You and I have a lot in common,I see. I love Johnny Cash, was crushed when he and June died.It was extremely sad the day Johnny died because my other favorite died the same day.....John Ritter. I remember I was so sad that day I could hardly do anything. What a bummer.

Anyway,I hope Hillary wins. If she doesn't I don't think we will win the GE.The repukes will not go for an Obama Presidency and they will swift boat him until he sinks.Have a great evening. Buff2
