I realize this is burning a thread for me, but I wanted to show that i'm one of the sensible DUers and that I will be voting for whoever the nominee is in November.

Just wanted to throw that our there.

The democratic part should come before anything else.

Now you all may continue with the food fight.

Good Day.

4. When she apologizes for the IWR, her lies, baiting and, frankly, theft of the nomination
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 01:50 PM by Truth Hurts A Lot
because let's be clear, that's what it would be, then and only then would I consider it.

19. I do think she has to destroy Obama in order to get the nomination, but..
Edited on Mon Mar-24-08 01:55 PM by malik flavors
the way I see it is, if she can actually pull that off then maybe she should be the nominee. Becasue, if he can't beat her he can't beat the republicans.

Obama's my main man, and I think it sucks that she has to go through him in order to get to the general, but he's going to have to show he can beat her before he can get to the main event.

6. Me too
This election is too important to let my candidate preference take my eye off the bigger picture. It will break my heart if I don't get to vote for Obama again, but I will vote for Clinton because I believe she'd be the better president than McCain.

It isn't a thread burn, imho. It's one of the most reasonable things I've read recently. (faint praise, I suppose, but heartfelt)

12. I've never had a problem with that.
It's what belonging to a party is all about. Obama's my first choice, but if it's not him, anything that allows the democrats to push through more of their platform is fine with me.

15. That's where all of our focuses should be
But for some, they take pleasure in burning bridges with supporters of the other candidate. I hope we will unite around a nominee, but I think it just may not be possible. As a Clinton supporter, I've been horrified to see supposed democrats brush off every nickname and lie Rush Limbaugh ever spewed and use it themselves. Obama can't be blamed for his supporters, but he hasn't done much to stop them either. This is further complicated by the fact that I admire John McCain, and disregard his recent repositioning for the conservative vote. If the democratic race continues to be destructive, it will be far easier for some of us, and for independents, to vote for someone with a proven track record of bipartisan compromise.

Three months ago I couldn't conceive of any possible way we could lose in November. Now I'm not so sure. I hope we will win, with at least 3 Supreme Court vacancies likely, but I see it all slipping away. Especially with China's recent activities, and the much-trumpeted "success" of the Surge, a strong-on-defense moderate like McCain may be unstoppable.

33. I am a Democrat and I will vote for and support the Democratic nominee.
The next president will either be McCain or a Democrat. Both Obama or Clinton are better than McCain. Even concerning the war I can understand the difference between 5 years of war and 100 years of war. In my own private fantasy world I get to pick the perfect president for me, one who will never do anything I do not like. Unfortunately, here in the real world, reality sometimes sucks but you go on and do the best you can. Quitting is for quitters.
