Dennis wins Boulder County, CO!
"The political shot heard round Colorado rang out at
around 2:45 p.m., when the Presidential vote tallies
were announced. Dennis Kucinich stunned John Kerry,
winning about 55% of the vote. Bedlam broke loose
with the announcement. On to the CD caucus in
Denver! (More details later, CD attendance is
CRUCIAL!)

Kanary, jumping for joy......... :bounce:

4. Great news, isn't it?
Here's another one.... this one from the caucuses, not today's conventions.

A conservative district had many Republicans reregister as Dems so they could vote for Dennis. I don't know the exact tally, but that district came out very high count for Dennis.

People are *really* ticked with Bushwa, and it's showing.

Dennis spent a day in Boulder, and, as you know, when people see him face-to-face, they can't resist. :)

2. Seriously?
Look, I think Dennis Kucinich is a fine and honorable guy, but come on. John Kerry is the nominee, pure and simple, and anything that diverts our attention from this fact is time and money taken away from doing what we NEED to do.

I fully realize that this is much more symbolic than real, but at some point it is no better than what Ralph Nader is doing. The goal is to get * out of office in November. Period.

Kucinich will back Kerry at the convention. As long as he's in it, some of his followers are with him, rather than Nader, which is a good thing.

someone voted for Lieberman and there was this "group moan" of disgust in the hall. Learned that Ken Salazar supported Lieberman and Mess-O-Potania -

6. Yup, Salazar is a Lieberbush fan.
No thanks. That's why I'm still supporting Mike Miles.

Did you hear any numbers for Denvoid? Dennis didn't have much time here, and other factors, had me concerned that he wouldn't do so well here. Still many people who didn't even know his name. sigh....

8. Yes, 25% in Denver!
I'm anxious to hear about Ft. Collins and Greeley, as Dennis spent quite a bit of time up north.

In Denver, the crowd asked for lots of information, took literature, and cheered speeches for Dennis. I think it's safe to say that yesterday, many people learned a lot more about Dennis.

7. Yeah!!!
I was there, it was pretty exciting, especially when they read out the numbers. I'm registered as a delegate to both the CD and State conventions.:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I met a number of other Clarkies at the assembly, and with the exception of the guy who gave a brief speech on behalf of Kerry,(he's a sweet guy and I love him, and have no problem with him working for Kerry), all of the Clark people that I saw there voted for Miles and Kucinich. In fact, one of the people speaking on behalf of Kucinich was

a former Clarkie.

Everyone who wanted to be a delegate for the higher up conventions got to sign up. There were more spaces than there were people to fill them.

The original problem that I told you about with respect to our caucus was evidently sorted out, since I was registered there as a Kucinich delegate.

I've never been to one of these things so it was really exciting and interesting.

By the way, almost all of the Boulder area Kucinich people are planning to fully support Kerry once he formally has the nomination, and are talking alot about the need for the entire party to unite behind getting rid of Bush. They are not playing the role of Naderite type spoilers.

We're just using the oportunity that we have with our votes, to let the party know what direction we want to see it take. That's what the primaries and caucuses are for.

I was too busy just trying to get through the crowds of people and figure out what the hell was going on.:)

I was completely exhausted by the end of the whole business. It probably didn't help that I had severe insomnia the night before.

I'll email you later, I have some interesting stories.

28. Those conventions are draining!
I know that from experience. YOu did well just to get through the day.... I'm not sure I could anymore.

I also want you to know that I think you should also give yourself some credit for part of that 55%! I know that you have put in some effort, and given your time and energy, and it all adds up. I know Boulder people are very happy, but I also hope that they are giving themselves some well-deserved pats on the back!

I'll be looking forward to those stories!

As a resident of the "Republic of Boulder", I can tell you this county has always been way left of the mainstream.

Lesseee... did I mention the conservative Colorado county where a large group of Republicans (former?!) registered as Dems so they could all vote for Dennis?! When people actually hear his message, he appeals to all.

I'm afraid Dennis is stuck with us "junkies". :)

25. Excellent News!
Who cares if we have a nominee for November already-- it's what we do AFTER we win that REALLY matters!

Dennis's voice (and those of his supporters) are the ones we should listen to once Kerry is president. Universal healthcare is not a "luxury", it is a essential need. We cannot afford more war without end-- we need to STOP it, NOW. Rebuilding the public infrastructure isn't a "luxury" either. It is ESSENTIAL to a functioning democracy.

Nice going to all you CO Kucitizens!!! You've done a FANTASTIC job!!!!!
