Obama smoked in Salem and Portland today
And no negative BS! Watch the polls over the next few days. The last week was just a small blip on the graph, I am confident of that. Barack Obama is AMAZING! In person it is different imo. Magic, that's the only way I can describe it. My 13 year old daughter and I were front row center, we got to shake his hand, got a autograph, a picture with him and I was able to tell him I will do all I can for him here in Salem. I am going to knock on doors tomorrow morning. My family is excited, even my wifes 101 year old grandmother. Going to start a website for her called CENTERAIANS4OBAMA.COM. I am rambling, am just excited (or MORE excited)!

15. Yes! I saved her a seat but she decided it would be too much at the last minute
Sad, I REALLY wanted her to meet him, she has seen a lot of presidents come and go. Just as well, the town hall started about 1 1/2 hours late, and it was FREEZIN outside (long lines). Her legs wouldn't have done very well. She doesn't own a wheelchair.

44. dude
i dont know what your circumstances are or those of your grandmother
and im not trying to be nosey
my wifes dad recently at 83 became totally disabled due to stroke and needed a wheelchair we called the vfw and american legions
they brought him one
he didnt belong to either group but many of their members pass and leave chairs in their care
to be given to those who can use them
they will get the chair back when he doesnt need it anymore
like us they hope thats a long time from now

hope they can help her
aside tho think of that 101 it was 1907 when she was born
when i think of all the change her generation and the one that followed made it through it boggles the mind
several years ago one of my kids interviewed my wifes dad and did a pretty insightful job of detailing the changes
as a historical document these peoples lives as they recall them should be preserved

Honestly, that's the first thought that came to mind when I saw the subject line. I thought it was some troll trying to claim that they'd spotted Barack and Bill rolling a doobie behind the Coliseum!!

Whew!

30. LOL. And you actually saw him do it?! ROFL...
That really is awesome. I wish that ANY of the candidates would come to my neck of the woods, but here in NY, we're not exactly considered a swing state. *sigh* I would absolutely love to see Obama, and I understand your excitement. He certainly has it, whatever "it" is, LOL, and he truly is making history, with the enthusiasm that he's engendering.:woohoo:

I was fortunate enough to see and hear Bill Clinton back in 2006, when he came to my little burg to campaign for my Democratic congressional candidate, and he has "it" too, definite charisma, and it's something I'll never forget.:patriot:

Don't feel as if you're rambling. I understand your excitement and thanks for sharing your great experience. And it was wonderful that you brought your young daughter. This is is something that she'll always remember. I just wish that grandmother was able to join you... It would have been an experience of a lifetime for her, too... :hi:

And if Obama did smoke a few cigarettes? I think he's allowed... I can't even imagine the pressure he's under. If he's able to quit smoking at this time in his life, he's even more amazing than the way you describe him...:D

And your grandmother-in-law sounds like a cool person.
